Hey guys!

Starting a new video series called "Quick Hits". It's like my regular reviews except a lot shorter (usually) but still full of underrated video game gem goodness. :D

Also dedicating all future "Quick Hit" reviews to one thread to make this simpler. Anyway on with the show!

Enjoy!:D

Yeah that is an often over looked NES game. Some other good overlooked games that I liked on the NES are:

Shatterhand
Vice Project Doom
Wrath of the Black Manta
Astyanax
Section Z
Zanac

Wow, what a coincidence I was playing this last night. Great video. I'm also baffled why Nintendo hasn't released The Guardian Legend to the VC. More games like these need the recognition they deserve.

That's a game I nearly completely forgot about! Thanks for bringing back some great memories.

Kabuki Quantum Fighter is a fantastic NES game. My cousins had a copy when I was younger and I always looked forward to playing it when I would spend a weekend at their place.

Eventually I got a copy of my own and my friends and I spent an entire summer playing it. We loved it and probably would have beat it much sooner but the time limit on some of the later stages made it nail bitingly tough. The exit would be just out of reach and we would run out of time!!!

It was very frustrating but it forced us to refine our skills and the game was so addictive we didn't mind.

Ha... I was going to say something about how you should review Kickle Cubicle, since it's my favorite NES game and practically no one has played it, but it looks like you're already hard at work on it.

New quick hits is up. This time I'm looking at the infamous white brick of pure awesomeness with the equally deserving bulletfest: Operation C!

Enjoy!

Press Start you have some really good reviews, I like how you only focus on less known games too. I would like to make a suggestion and that's to not use any strong language at all. I'm not saying it's excessive but your reviews have an old school charm and style to them and you're always kind of happy and cheery and it makes even the occasional swearing just feel out of place. Just a suggestion and not in anyway a rant.

Keep it up!

PS I would love to see a video of Vampire Master Of Darkness for either SMS or GG, it's a truly underappreciated Castlevania clone!

Maybe I misunderstood but in the review at 4 minutes are you stating that Contra (Japan Operation C) doesn't have stage select or doesn't have the Konami code? You would be correct to say it does not have the code, but wrong in saying stage select is not present. Stage select is available from the start in Contra and the Press Start Key chime is the same sound that is heard in Operation C when the code has been successfully entered. Anyway, nice review, Operation C kicks ass.

Quick Hits moving along to #3: Fortified Zone. Zelda fans should find this somewhat peculiar.

Enjoy!

That's true. But it's always be Data East's in my pixelated heart.

Now when are they gonna re-release Tumblepop! :deadhorse:

And yet, it was Namco that ended up behind that other Burger Time Deluxe (http://impulsedriven.com/burgertime) for some reason.

(Got some middling reviews, that Burger Time Deluxe.)

LOVE both of those GB titles. 2 player battle on Burgertime Dlx. Is a great time!

Great games like that from the GB's library always make me wonder why Nintendo has yet to exploit it on a virtual console store. Maybe we'll see one one the 3DS.

That's because G-Mode is a licensing whore.

And even though most didn't like it, I have a thing for SCAT

Yes, this is a very fun game. Really enjoyed it when I was just getting into collecting.

Motor City Patrol is another one of those overlooked NES gems, too. (I liked it, at least...)

Namco is just the publisher. The rights to Burgertime Deluxe reside with G-Mode, and it appears that G-Mode might've also did the programming to this update.

G-Mode even announced it's availability through their site which demonstrates the connection.
