Well, I recently sold my 3 year collection of Nintendo Power and was quite surprised at how much they went for. I wasn't expecting to make ANY money on the old magazines. When I put them up for auction, I was tempted to throw in my two Nintendo Power Player's Guides (Mario Kart 64 and Goldeneye), but decided against it.

Just curious, are older player's guides a valuable item? Binding is in tact, no pages missing, no markings, torn pages, etc. The Mario Kart guide has the two bumper stickers still attached in the back. Both guides contain a mailing sticker on the front cover, but other than that, I would say they are in very good condition.

So, is there a market for older strategy guides? Are either or these worth more than a buck or two?

There is a market for older guides, but it depends on the games they're based on (and an expensive game doesn't necessarily have an expensive guide or vice versa). Those two are only worth a couple bucks a piece, though. Usually expensive guides are for RPGs. Even though there are collectors, part of it is still a matter of function. An RPG player may feel he needs a guide to get everything out of the game, but people generally don't feel that way about FPSs and racers.
