I'm seriously looking to invest in one of these, but there's a HUGE range of machines and prices.
Anyone have any experience? I'm hand polishing 1-2 disks a day with "perma-spin" which honestly, is pretty slow and doesn't repair anything but the tiniest of scuffs. I have a pretty big waiting pile.

Here's the one that I was considering
http://www.redisc.net/product_info.php?products_id=69

From the articles I've read, I think water-cooled is the way to go, as the smaller non-cooled units seem to get reports of peeling the foil layers off of disks. Yikes!
But I don't want to spend a small fortune either: the RTI machines start at $3K

Any recommendations? Experiences?
Thanks!

I have the JFJ Easy Pro and I love it. It has helped resurface even the most fucked up discs. Only one disc could not be restored, and it was way beyond repair to begin with. All others have worked flawlessly, even those that we thought to be dead.

The only con about it is that you need to buy supplies that can be a bit expensive. But I don't mind, as it was a great investment, not in monitary terms, but collection wise.

There was one complaint from a DP member about it being bad (I think it was from darkslime), but I personally never encountered any issues with mine, and I've had mine for quite some time. There is a possibility that the machine he had was defective to begin with, I don't know, but from experience, it really does a fantastic job repairing discs.

A few months ago my brother purchased a "Rainbow Bright" movie DVD that was severely scratched and certain portions where unplayable. After some trial and error, the disc now plays flawlessly and backup copies have been made for preservation, just in case.

So I personally recommend the product.

All the stores I frequent use the JFJ Easy Pro. That's actually the one we're looking at for our upcoming shop.
