With the recently announced HD Remake of ICO, I was thinking about selling my sealed PS2 copy. I was curious whether I should sell it ASAP or wait until the remake comes out. I am assuming I should sell it ASAP before the market drops out on it. What do you guys think?

I have a used PS2 copy that I'm thinking of selling before the remake comes out.
I noticed that prices have already dropped for used copies and I think it will drop more after the remake is released.
I would guess to say that sealed copies will drop as well.

I saw a really nice used copy for $14.99 at my favorite local used games store. Tough decision to make about your sealed copy.

Sell the sealed one ASAP.
I sold one with a punched-through UPC for $150 ages ago... the price's probably dropped since then, so take advantage of it rigiht now.

Do these sorts of ported releases actually influence sealed collectors at all? I don't see why they would. No one pays $150 for a sealed game just to open it (ok, most don't), and even if you did it would likely be done out of spite or for the joy of devaluing a game. There won't BE any reprints of the original PS2 Ico, so I don't see how this release should effect the sealed PS2 one. Now if it was opened, that would be different. People are paying those sorts of prices mostly b/c they want to play the game. Sealed collectors have no interest in playing a sealed game (tho many will buy two copies: one opened and one sealed so they CAN play it).
Bottom line is, sealed game prices are dictated by how scarce the game is to find sealed, and that has NOTHING to do w/ a re-release. The re-release is judged on its own merits. That's my thought anyway, but I'm no sealed collector.

Sell definitely. If you have the PAL Collector Edition, then that is a keeper.

Didn't even know there was a collector's edition of this....but all it is is art cards and a slip case. Not so overly impressive :(

I only got about $20 bucks for the copy of Ico that I listed. $60 seems insane.

He's talking about a brand new, sealed game.

look at how much sealed ps1 games are going for, 10-15 years later. Id hang on to it for a while....once the heat is gone from the re-release and ps2 is finally dead, itll bring you some coin.

Depends on the game. There are plenty of PS1 games which go for a few bucks sealed mint.

Good thing I have out off buying a sealed copy for so long, now the prices will become more affordable. All I know is this HD remake needs to come out in japan soon so I can import it, I need my ICO fix it has been awhile and I am dieing to play it again!
