So, who picked it up?

I did and I gotta say... they took this long to make what is essentially an expansion pack? I mean, come on now. Sure it's a sequel but literally the only thing different are the combo weapons. Fortune City, casinos aside, is a mall. Even the basic outline of the game story and flow is the same, especially at the end, without going into spoilers.

Horrendous load times as well, after every transition, every cutscene. Very mediocre graphics as well for such a late generation release. Even the mall music is the same. What the hell?

Don't get me wrong, the game is a ton of fun because it is Dead Rising but seriously, Capcom and Blue Castle copped out on this one.

Picked up the LE Xbox 360 edition but have yet to open it.

I need to play the first Dead Rising, then the download episode, then this. I don't think I need to play the first game in order to understand everything, but I would like to play them in order anyway.

I'm around 1:00 PM on Day 3, I've had a blast so far. Of course the only "new" thing is that you need to collect Zombrex and weapons can be combined, but that's plenty for me.

The survivor AI is also substantially improved so I'm not having to save them every 5 seconds. Ideally I'd like to 1000/1000 it but realistically I might do a playthru or two and then stop.

Just too much backlog to beat games over and over, even though I'm having tons of fun with this one. I think it is the solid 8.5 that it was rated. Not perfect by any means but still improved.

Oh yeah, and 3 save slots instead of 1 is also HUGE. Though you'd think something like that is elementary to include in a current gen game.

I agree it seems more of the same, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I am running into a few issues.

- NPCs seem to be smarter, but dumber at the same time. I had one try to shoot zombies with a shot gun, while another NPC was standing in front of him. WTF?!?

- The Co-Op is messed up. There is a glaring glitch where when the host tries to save, it kicks the other person out of the game. How did this make it out the door? Needs to be fixed with a patch ASAP.

Yeah I don't even care about the Co-Op. I'm actually very pissed that it isn't local Co-Op as I promised my girlfriend that she'd be able to help me kill zombies. Now I got to deal with the whole "You're ignoring me" everytime I want to kill some damn zombies.

Co-Op is retarded, you can't even move between areas unless both of you are by the door. And usually your teammate is a retard off killing zombies pointlessly. Thank god they have the boot feature in there.

I bought it launch day but have yet to try it out. Couple moving with two kids and trying to finish up Reach and max out my level on DR case zero and I just haven't gotten around to DR2.
I do love the packaging and extras that came with the Zombrex edition; I just wish that the prospectus didnt look like a goralla sat on it and then shoved it into the box with a forklift. That's really my only gripe with the package thus far.

There is really no need to nitpick on things such as load times and repeat gameplay. Loads times are something we've dealt with in game for over 15 years - sure they've gotten a lot better, but they don't bother me - especially when a game is THIS fun.

This is Capcom we're talking about here, and there's a reason they mention Mega Man a lot in this series. So what if the gameplay is the same? I've been playing dozens of Mega Man incarnations for years and it never gets old (for me).

Dead Rising 2 has definitely satisfied my zombie killing lust.

If you install the game to the HDD, the load times aren't too bad.

Anyone picked up the PC version? I am anxious to try it on PC.

Don't get me wrong, I highly enjoyed the game. I don't think I've beaten a game that fast in a long time because I couldn't put it down. I was glad that the survivors actually could travel much easier than the last time. I even had two in tow when I fought Brandon and they actually stayed alive with little consequence.

As GAC mentioned, still some stupidity there. One survivor is found standing on top of some slot machines and after I got him to join, I cleared the zombies around him and he still wouldn't come down. Had to use the boot kick to gentle tap him off the slots. Overall though, the higher tier of AI made saving them rapid fire much easier. Got 49 saved at the end.

Combo weapons were a real treat too. The ability to make any at just about anytime was a smart move on their part. The Blitzkrieg is amazing, just wish you could transition with it.

For bosses, the driller (drill + spear) and flaming gloves/knife gloves (boxing gloves + oil or bowie knife) make things so easy.

But I was happy but disappointed we didn't get more. When other companies can get away without constantly loading on cutscenes/transitions, it seems kinda ludicrous that Capcom can't. There was so much possibility to innovate beyond what we got. Half the game is a mall again. Even Overtime mode was exactly the same as the first.

Wat? There is online co-op, but no same system co-op? WTF is that?

I haven't played the first Dead Rising as I dont own a 360, but I really want to try out dead rising 2. I just dont want to pay 60 dollars for it as I know it has problems too.

I was originally going to wait on this, but I ended up picked up two copies, one for myself and another as a birthday present for a buddy. I've been enjoying the hell out of it and it's a huge improvement over the first one, haven't played it online yet tho.

I'm having a fun time with this as well. I will say that I rarely complain about games 'cause I'm so easy to please, but goddamned the load times suck.

I plan on getting this eventually. Had a blast with the first one. I'm eager to try it with more than one frickin save slot. (The one thing that really sucked in the first game) To those with the LE version did you feel paying the extra $$$ was worth the swag? I'm a sucker for LE games (Have around a dozen) but this one didn't sound too interesting to me. A syringe pen? Are the extra item high quality?

If you were interested in the any limited edition for this game you would have got this. The life size zombie figure is just a prize if you were the lucky one to win it out of everyone who purchased the high stakes edition. While if you enjoy cards you probably already have a poker set, the poker set looks nice.

I'm more happy with the Zombrex edition.

I'm at 6:00PM on Day 3, hopefully should get some solid gaming in tonight.

This is the version I bought...I wonder how many were made/sold?

Isn't that the version that was sold exclusively on the Capcom website? I might be wrong (which I probably am), but I believe there were only a very limited amount of those.

Edit: Well the PS3 version is still available on their website, kind of makes me curious on how many of them were produced for each console.

That's really odd. I just added and paid for the 360 version of the LE. Whether or not it will go through, dunno.

There's plenty of the High Stakes editions on eBay, certainly not that "rare", at least not yet. Not to mention we haven't even seen the wave of people that may sell them after they beat the game.

Got up to around 5:00AM on Day 4 last night, really hoping to beat this before the weekend. Loving every minute so far. I think I'm about level 34 right now.

I kinda still want the original ported to the PS3.

There's plenty still available on Capcom's store site for both platforms. If you watched the unbox video, it's pretty clear this is way overpriced. The poker set is cheap and the outer box and map are pretty weak for the price. This has to be the worst special edition I have ever seen for the money and I feel sorry for anyone who bought one thinking it would go up in value.

So I beat it twice this weekend, once on ending A (by accident) and once with the "true ending", ending S.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, now going back and doing a bunch of acheievements. I'm surely not going to 1000/1000 this one (not grinding zombies, not changing into every outfit, etc.), but there's still plenty of fun ones for me to knock out.

I think I'm level 43 now, nearing Katie's 2nd Zombrex dose. Still loving this game.

I'd call it a close race with Red Dead for game of the year for me. I really like this game. So much to do.

Yeah I like it a lot as well, I'm doing some of the achievement on my second run thru now. I think I'm at about 460/1000.

I know I won't get 1000 or even 900 most likely. Probably will only do this second playthru and just stop there. It's a great game and one of my favs this year, but I can only get in 10-15 hours of gaming a week (if that) and I don't want to spend tons of time grinding for zombie kills.

I wish you had the option to create your own survivor to play as, or even play as the people you rescue.
