OK, maybe I'm hearing things but in the super family friendly Yoshi's Story on the N64, the Yoshi's were singing: "Yyyoouuuu Aaa^&&*$-hhhholeee!" Yeah, called me a A-hole! Don't believe me, just watch this video review I did.

So you heard it too!?

I thought it was just my brain attempting to make sense out of non-sense... Actually, I think I'm sticking with that.

Like Mai Shiranui's phrase "Nippon ichi" English speakers hear as "Me bouncy".

And that is how an animutation starts out.

Yoshi certainly calls MARIO an A#@!$@!# HOLE but then again who can blame him?

I wouldn't know.

I've avoided all games featuring that bastard since they gave him a voice.

So, you only like Super Mario World?

Yoshi's Island was fine, baby Mario was the problem in that game. Yes, Yoshi's Story got a little annoying, but was fun still. The port of Yoshi's Island for the GBA included more annoying Yoshi sounds which turned me off more, I say stick with the SNES original.

Wait a minute.....thats not what she says? These video game translators need to do a better job of translating their work.

I've played Yoshi's Story for around 10-20 minutes before I decided to sell it, I really can't find games for the N64 that make it worth collecting.

Er... Zelda: OoT/MM, Mario Kart/64, Pokemon Stadium/Snap, Turok, Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie/Tooie, Harvest Moon 64, Mischief Makers?

Not sure about Yoshi, but when you play Billy Hatcher and play as the small yellow guy, do a egg slam with him and he yells "YA WHORE!". Well, it certainly sounds like that.

Or how about Daisy in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour when she did badly on a hole? I swear to god it sounds like she says, "No, no, no ,no ,no ,no, you SLUT!!"

Maybe the games were good.

Yoshi's voice is just bloody irritating. I can't stand it. It wouldn't be so bad once in a while but THEY WON'T FUCKING SHUT UP.

Heh heh, you do get a good amount of height by doing that. Besides he deserves it!

It's amazing that people are still trying to figure out what the Yoshi's are singing, to this day. I figured they weren't saying anything, just making noises.

Out of the ones you've listed I haven't played Banjo Kazooie/Tooie or Mischief Makers. The other ones really didn't grab my attention. Mario Kart was good but it was pretty much the same as Super Mario Kart for the SNES with slightly better graphics. As for Turok and Goldeneye, they're FPS which I'm not that big on, I do play some like Duke Nukem 3D and to me the ones available for N64 didn't seem as good so I never kept them. I couldn't get into Harvest Moon games for some reason and I also couldn't get into Pokemon games. I guess I could play the Zeldas again, I still have the first one with the strategy guide though I didn't think much of it when I last played it. I still have a system but I pretty much never touch it, I'm not much into 3D platformers or generic racing games which is what the system seems to be swamped with.

What really interests me for the system is Wonder Project J2 but that only came out in Japan so I can't play it on a console in English. Instead we got games like Shadowman and Superman 64.

It's probably something Satanic, as long as nobody could figure it out they'd try to sneak it in for lols. LOL

Since I bought this and played it back when it first came out I also have always just accepted them as saying this.

Still enjoyed the game, even though it was a bit out there.

Edit: I also thought they would sing "The egg-hoooleeee the egg-hoooleee"

I always understood it as "The Airport". Why a Yoshi would be singing about an airport, we may never know...

Also, Mario says "So long, Gay Bowser!" when he throws Bowser at full speed in Super Mario 64. Hey; it does vaguely involve the topic at hand, so why not mention it too?

Yeah, I was thinking that's what Mario said too in Super Mario 64.

Haha someone once sent that statement in to Nintendo Power, that it sounded like "The Airport." Was it you who sent them the mail? hahaha either that or other people were hearing the same thing.

'Egghole' sounds kinda perverted there. Maybe A-hole isn't that bad.

I'm not sure how that makes eggs worse, they're basically the chicken's period yet nobody has a problem with that.

Hah, if that bothers you, you know, it's not just Yoshis that are like that. I don't know if every bird is the same, but in terms of poultry, eggs and waste share the same hole. :P They have different ducts, of course, though, and the egg travels in such a way that it can never touch the other. Nature is pretty ingenious like that. Good thing too because it would be a lot easier for us to get salmonella if waste got on eggs. That's why it's always best to get free-range eggs because in those filthy, cramped cages of other producers, it's really hard for waste to not end up getting on the eggs at some point.

The part the original poster is interested in starts at 0:12. The singers are just making vowel sounds. They aren't actually saying anything.

Yoshi would be a reptile, not a bird. Even so reptiles are like birds in that they also have a cloaca, a single opening for all that stuff.

Since Yoshi lays eggs, is Yoshi female? Also, according to various sites Yoshi is in some kind of relationship with Birdo. Yet the instruction manual for Super Mario Bros 2 says that Birdo is a boy that thinks he's a girl, so what kind of relationship are they in exactly?

Here's some evidence;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYSpwOHktZo

If that's wrong and Birdo is actually female, does that mean the eggs are laid from her mouth? If so, how are they fertilized?

Are you trying to make sense out of a video game about plumbers stomping on turtles to save a princess?

I hope you didn't honestly think I was suggesting Yoshi was a bird. :P But yeah, my wording was a little funny.

I've always been bugged about Yoshi laying eggs too since it does seem like Yoshi is male. Has Nintendo ever overtly stated Yoshi's gender?
