XBOX 360 Screen freaking out

So my 4+ year old xbox 360 decided to freak out today. Starts up okay, and last anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes before it makes a high pitched sound, locks up, and the screen get scrambled, see pic. I made sure the PS and xbox aren't hot, nave plenty of ventilation, plug the PS into the wall directly, tried it without the HD, cleared the cache, unplugged and replugged (?) all connection, and nothing seems to work. I don't get any error messages, or red lights.

Any ideas?

Your gpu is failing and it will red ring pretty soon.

What I would do is the xclamp fix and 12v mod the fans.

Quick update, I picked up an xclamp kit off ebay for $13 shipped, got it this weekend. Before installing I used a heat gun on the GPU and CPU, installed the kit (skipped fan mod for now) and I've played about 10 hours of games with no issues. Thanks for saving me a few hundred bucks having to buy a new system!

Nicely done evg2000 on getting your 360 working again.

Also the 12v fan mod is pretty easy to do,your 360 will be loud as hell but you will have nice temps.
