Hahaha this voice over series is hilarious. I can't believe I haven't seen it before. I own the whole X-Men 90's Animated Series on DVD. I am also liking the idea of playing this arcade game on a console.

I wonder how much this will cost us: $10 or $15.

Cool. I'm still hoping for a Capcom D&D game though. :)

If it's a Capcom game I want to see both D&D games packaged together or King of Dragons and Knights of the Round packaged together.

I believe the only reason they're releasing this game is that, not because it's good, but since they have the rights to Marvel they may as milk it while they can. That and people will probably buy it due to the built up hype from Marvel vs Capcom plus everyone likes the X Men.

I was never going to get this game seeing as it's download only, but even if it wasn't I still wouldn't get it.

Yeah,

That's a damned fun beat-em-up. Here's hoping it retains the full six-player mode.

I also love that the designs are based on the late 80s Marvel/Sunbow cartoon pilot "Pryde of the X-Men" ... I know the 90's X-Men toon was very very popular, but being a fan of the Claremont era books "Pryde's" team lineup, character designs and beautiful animation always made me angry that they never got to produce a full cartoon run in that style.

I'm still surprised that the entire thing was released since Disney was behind it. The last season was terrible and it gets released, while the final volumes for Duck Tales, Talespin, Rescue Rangers, and Darkwing Duck aren't.

Here's one of the Season 5 episodes for those that doubt how terrible they are. :(

Activision holds the videogame rights for the X-Men franchise, not Konami. This is only working out due to their cooperation.

I wonder if the PS3 version will support 6 players offline?

I don't think it's released by Disney. It looks like one of those cheaper bootleg sets with artwork. Kinda like my full The Three Stooges, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z & Dragon Ball GT sets. I mean my X-Men set also includes that Pryde of the X-Men Pilot as a bonus.

Your set is a bit different then. I actually looked it up on Amazon and the entire series was released on 5 volumes by Walt Disney Studios.

Here's a link to the final volume;
http://www.amazon.com/X-Men-Five-Marvel-Comic-Collection/dp/B0036EH3XY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1287041822&sr=8-3

According to the Wikipedia page on the series, there were problems with some of the sets. You probably did well to get the set that you have instead of the separate volumes.

In 2009, Buena Vista Home Entertainment began releasing X-Men: The Animated Series on DVD in Region 1 in volume sets. The releases named X-Men - Marvel Comic Book Collection are two-disc sets and to date five volumes have been released. Volume 1 & 2 were released on 28 April 2009. Volume 3 and 4 were released on 15 September 2009. Unfortunately, Buena Vista Home Entertainment decided to release the episodes on Volumes 3 & 4 in airdate order instead of the correct production order. Thus, there will be numerous continuity errors. In addition, a few episodes are at PAL speed due to poor framerate conversion; there is also occasional ghosting. Volume 5 was released on May 4th 2010.

I don't see how having konami x-men as a download only is a bad thing this arcade classic wouldn't sell at,retail only for just one game. Now if it was in a collection i could see it that way still i'm glad it's coming to the psn.Beside it being able to play it online with up to six players is convenient for me.

Heh, the 'cool kids' have been running this, Simpsons and numerous other awesome titles on FBA for years with high-quality graphic filters and effects, free online play and the like.

Yeah, it's nice from a licensing standpoint that these games are available for download on consoles, but I have just as much fun playing on my 23" widescreen LCD PC monitor with a controller in hand and the games look absolutely gorgeous. It may not be the most 'ethical' thing to be doing, but until downloads for consoles can match the sheer number of options and configurations that free emulators can, I will continue to do so this way.
