WTB: Modded Genesis 3

Hi all,

Looking to buy a Model 3 Genesis modded with the following specs:

Region Switch
S-Video Out
Audio-Out
Stereo Mod
Crystal Clear Sound
Green LED Light
Power Out in the back
SMS Converter Compatible

No 32X/Game Genie function needed. I'm really looking for clean Electrochip type work as seen in the pics below:

Bare bones console is absolutely fine, no box or hook-ups needed. Let me know what sort of price works and I can send cash ASAP.

I didn't think the gen 3 could run the 32X or Powerbase converter.

BTW, neat idea. I'd love one of these myself.

Up until I started doing some research, I had assumed the same. You can basically add functionality back to the Genesis 3 for everything it couldn't do (SMS, 32X, Virtua Racing, Game Genie, even Sega CD, but why would you do that one :) ) aside from Gargoyles as it exploits a controller glitch that was removed in that hardware revision.

I like the look and size of my Genny 3, have an X'Eye in my living room for Sega CD games, and I pretty much don't care about the 32X or Game Genie, so I thought why not get a hooked up model?

If I end up do finding someone to do the work and I like it, I'll hit you up with a PM containing the guy's contact info!

I could definitely do it for you (including the 32X mod), but at the moment I have a ton a modding work aside of my full time job...

If you are not able to find anyone in a week or two let me know, we can problably work something out or, how much are you looking/willing to pay?.. I can always sell you mine since its already modded + it has a bright cool LED too ;).... thanks!

Hey ooXxXoo! I actually shot you a PM over on the Sega-16 boards either yesterday or this morning asking if you'd be interested. Love your work for sure.

I totally understand you being busy, so I'll poke around a bit and see if anyone with an open schedule could help out.

As to price, I'm pretty open to suggestions and have a bit of cash to burn, so let me know what you think that work would cost and I'm sure we could work something out!

Hey!....Hope that you are doing great :D !...

Well, it depends on the things that you want to get done and the features added to the system...As some of you might remember, I was the first person able to make the Genesis 3 compatible with the 32X a few years back ,so some people choose the whole package including this mod, and the usual AV's, s-video, LED and region switch..I can always install and re-locate the power port connector in the rear as well if desired:

Could you provide a few benchmarks for pricing?

For instance:
1. only want AV ports/S-Video and power port moved to rear
2. #1 and region mod
3. 1-2 and power LED
4. 1-3 and SMS compatibility
5. 1-4 and 32X compatibility
6. 1-5 and can cook my supper (optional, I guess)

Sure not a problem, is definitely good to keep your options open...Like I said, besides having a full time job, I'm always doing some modding work, projects or repair jobs, I'm also a dad and a family man, so I try to keep things balanced as much as possible...The reason why I didn't jumped on the wagon right away ;) ..

But, I'll get back with you guys as soon as I get a chance :cheers:

ooXxXoo did a couple systems for me.(2600 and NES toploader) He does great work and both of those systems are running strong after 3-4 years. Great guy, fast and clean work!

speaking of genesis mods - is it possible to move the AV port from the side of a CDX to the rear? or is that too risky?

I love my CDX, but I hate the fact that the AV sticks out the side.
