View Full Version : Metal Gear Solid Case Variations?

I noticed that there's 4 different types of case artwork for MGS One with the words Metal Gear Solid in black lettering and there's one with red lettering. Also it's the same case with the greatest hits versions. Why the changes?

My guess, as with many of kojima's work, is he was using a font that looked too similar to one of the movies he was ripping off/ paying respect to. Probably blade runner, terminator, or escape from new york.

That wouldn't make any sense really. He didn't change the font, only the color. Also (I'm assuming the black font color the was first of the cases) he change to using the red because "it was to similar" to something. Why would he use the black font color on the greatest hits version yet again? ...but then change it to the red colored one again. I'm just not really getting it

I've got no clue then, I know both metal gear and metal gear 2 had the characters portraits changed from looking like famous people in the re-releases so I thought it might be the same case here with movies being to blame. Here's the escape from new york title poster for comparison.
