It's pretty and all, but why would they go through all that trouble and then skimp out on the HUD font?
Anyway, I am generally not inclined to get excited over demos of fan projects.

So I'm guessing this one is real this time? The last one a few months ago was just a CGI animation.

I would really recommend giving the Demo a try, it was awesome...
Sega, if they had any brains at all(they dont), would sign this up straight away, Sonic 4 showed that even with good level desgin sonic sucks in the hands of Sonic Team.

Yea me neither but this looks fantastic! Very detailed but not in a confusing or distracting way..

Wow!
I just downloaded this and gave it a run. It's really awesome. I'm very impressed and can only hope that Sonic 4 plays as well. I Love all the little details that are sprinkled throughout.
The backgrounds are especially awesome. I love the spot lights and stuff. It just adds so much.

I've been playing this for a few days now, and I have to say I'm astonished by how good it is. The only real issue I have with it is that sometimes Sonic blends in a bit too much with the background.
Sonic 4, with it's lazy flash game animation and botched physics, is just embarrassing compared to this.

I concur! Sega should hire whoever made this remake, and put their Sonic team to work on kiddie games or something.

I loved the demo way more than the Sonic 4 demo. I doubt I'll even buy Sonic 4. If it had been like this though I would have already bought it.

This. Sega should be outright embarrassed that this is that much better than Sonic 4. Its not even a fair comparison. Fan Remix at least looks like a substantial amount of effort was put in. Sonic 4 is good, but its comes across as lazy and just "giving into what the fans want."

I'm not sure if Fan Remix will run well on my PC, so I haven't tried the demo yet, but the screens and gameplay videos of it vividly illustrate that Sega is continuing their plunge into the abyss. I am admittedly a fan of Sega's history, but they can't even do 2D Sonic properly any longer. It's absolutely appalling. Sonic 4 has some of the worst 2D physics I've ever experienced, and I can tell this game plays better from just watching the video. I don't care as much about the look, as both approaches have their merits, but the gameplay in Sega's game is simply not right. I'm not going to pay them episodically for this crap when the fan game is in a different league. Bravo Pelikan 13 & Mercury, and shame on you Sega for not having them do Sonic 4 properly.
Sega should pull their release and either bring these guys in to fix it; leave it as it is, but fire the team & let these guys finish the project; or scrap it entirely after after this one episode & license the fan game. This deserves to be played on console, and Sonic 4 is what's standing in the way.
