This machine isn't on KLOV.com, and the only things I can Google about it are the arcade flyers being for sale at some web store. I picked it up after the guy at the thrift store dropped the price down to $50, although I've yet to pick it up since it wouldn't fit in my car. Have any of you seen one before?

That is Sega Awesome Rat novelty/redemption game - made in 1992

It's your typical kiddie redemtion game from the early 90's. You control a ball on a level field to win tickets, like those wooden labyrinth games.

It's not much fun to play if there are no prizes involved.

The forums at KLOV are good for finding manuals/parts/etc for this random, obscure stuff.

I find it odd that KLOV.com doesn't have it listed. That's one of the reasons I bought it, thinking it might be fairly rare. My brother really talked me into it, also. He wants to restore it for me.

Some say the same about Zeke's Peak / Ice Cold Beer. (I'm not one of them)

Why not create a new entry? Most entries don't even have cabinet pics, so right there you're on top of it. Add in manufacturer, year, and some game play info, and boom goes the dynamite.

I'll try and do that. My brother and I picked it up today, and he was really excited to fool around with it. He can't wait to start restoring it. We put it in his garage and managed to get it working to a point. But there's no ticket dispenser in the machine, so the game with only go so far. Something else he pointed out to me... the skateboarding rat looks very similar to a biker group rat mascot. He wants to research and see if it's the same or a similar character. He custom paints motorcycles, and he was talking about really cleaning and painting the machine up and bringing it to biker shows to show off some of his handiwork, along with a bunch of other custom pieces he's done. Who knows.

Yeah you can add new games, it's encouraged that you do. Sometimes it takes a while for a submission to be approved though. If your a member of VAPS you can vote on submissions too.

Sweet! An Awesome Rat! The Chuck E Cheese around here had one of those, and it was the one 'kiddie' game that I always really had fun playing. For $50, if you've got the space for it, I think it was a great pick up. Don't worry about rarity or anything, just enjoy the game!

NECRO-BUMP!!
Hey man, I just picked one of these up too and this topic is pretty much the ONLY thing I can find online about it, klov STILL does not have an entry.

Did you ever find any manual scans or anything on it? I scored it for $50 (delivered to my door, lol) so I couldn't turn it down. He bought it in a lot of arcade games/etc, he has never even plugged it in and it was burried in a pile of shit in his garage so I'm assuming when it actually gets here it will be non-working.

Did you ever "restore" yours?

Considering how much it is listed for here - $50 delivered doesn't sound too bad! http://www.blasters.ca/redemption.htm

I remember seeing this machine at a local arcade by me back in the day. It was one of the few where it was pretty easy to win tickets from as well, it seemed. That's pretty cool you found one, even if you can't quite get the same thrill from playing those games as you would if you can't win anything, but still.
