View Full Version : How to tell revision on Mystic Defender (Genesis)

Wondering if there's any indication on cart or otherwise that would tell me whether the game is REV 00 or 01? Or should I try to beat it to determine that? Also curious as to whether one version would be rarer than the other.
(for the uninformed, REV 00 shows the hero's girlfriend as nude in the boss battle while REV 01 covers it up.)

Best bet woukld be to geme genie to the last level and check for yourself. Don't know any obvious way to tell otherwise.

Mystic Defender is one of my first and favorite Genesis games (I even named my daughter 'Alexandra'). I've owned and played quit a few copies of the game over the years, but I've never seen Alexandra her covered up before, so I'm going to assume that the covered version is the rarer one, no?

Yeah, it is. I've gone through several different copies of Mystic Defender myself, and she's always been nude. But here's a pic from the other revision:
