Squenix is running a neat contest to win some rather interesting Front Mission Evolved prizes. The grand prize is an assembled four-foot paper Wanzer, a new 360, a copy of the game, XBL membership, and "more." The actual contest is a papercraft contest, where you print out, color, and assemble a papercraft model from the PDF they give you. Even if you're not going to enter the contest, it looks like a pretty neat model to make, if you have 34 sheets of card stock lying around. They provide a monochrome PDF for use in the contest, or a fully colored one if you just want to do it for fun. You're not allowed to use the colored one as your submission.

I think I'm going to try my hand at this. Not sure if I really want a four-foot paper mech (where would I put it?), but I really want a copy of the game. You have to photograph your entry, so I'm sure that people are going to get creative. If anybody else is interested, I'd like to see your photos here. The contest entry deadline is November 19th, so you have a little more than two weeks.

I'm guessing the folks here aren't exactly into arts and crafts...

I've got the first six pages cut out, and the head is assembled. Of course, this is probably just going to be my practice run, as I found out that I can open PDFs in Gimp. I'll be doing my design digitally, then just printing and assembling the final product. I'm still trying to decide on a design, though.
