NES Audio Issue with LCD [Archive] - Retrogaming Roundtable

I hooked my NES up on to my new Samsung LCD TV using the RCA outputs and I am getting feedback (buzzing) over the games' audio. Obviously the NES has 1 audio output and my TV has 2 so I put the one audio into the left channel and get it and then switched to the right and get the same.

Is there anything I have to do to my TV? Do I have to buy the RCA converter to make one port into 2.

It does it with my genesis system on my lcd lg tv.

Not a solution but you REALLY should not be playing an NES on anything but a standard definition TV. You get tons of audio and picture problems like this doing what you're doing.

Luckily I have been playing Tecmo Bowl which does not need the audio (so I just pull the audio rca cable out). I do not see any reason why you cannot play on an LCD TV. I may have to dig up and RF unit or just get the 1 male to 2 female RCA thing and try that.

Just split the audio with a Y-Adaptor. Depending which end, match up the male and female connectors. A good idea to keep all the RCA jacks covered to cut down on the audio buzz feedback.

In a reverse situation, if you have a Mono TV then you will be missing some sounds if you don't set the game to mono. A pain to configure each game. You could just leave settings to default stereo. Hookup both the audio cables with the same Y-Adaptor to your mono TV.

Thank You. I had a feeling that is what it was, but I wanted to make sure. I am going to Radio Shack tomorrow:-)

Either would work, the top for the TV or the bottom one on the NES.
