Hi,

I found at a garage sale, an AES System w/o the power cord and a/v cables... but with 2 controllers and 4 games: Magician Lord, Art of Fighting, Baseball Stars, and Football Frenzy.

There a local guy who'll pay $160 for the bundle, but I'm debating purchasing the cables myself and selling it all together.

My question for you guys is: is it worth it? Do I take the 160 and run? Or opt to buy the cables and get more that way?

Thanks in advance

I'd get the cords and get more.

Me too.

Or perhaps the system is cordless because it doesn't work... and getting the cords could just leave you with a pile of plastic?

Take the $160, that's a pretty fair offer anyway.

In this situation (if I didn't already own one), I'd get the cords to try and play it.

I say sell it, you probably got it cheap to begin with so you are already making some money flipping it.

Also, as mentioned it may be busted, have a broken trace etc, and you would be stuck with cables and a bunk system.

Well, the $160 would be if the system tested good. It's a locally owned collector shop and they have the cables needed to test it. So either way, I'll probably find out if it works or not. I paid $30 for the system, games, and controllers, so what I think I'll do is have them test the system and if it works, invest for the cords and sell it that way.

Anyone know where to get the cables at a reasonable price?

Thanks for all the feedback! You guys are killer!

for the video cable I believe you can use a sega genesis model I video cable, or a sega master system. They are also pretty easy to make, 5 pin din and a video cable (or ebay for $5-$10). For the power supply you have to make sure you get the correct voltage/amps for the model you have otherwise you risk breaking it. I found a PS for mine from a thrift for a few bucks., the polarity was wrong so I had to cut the cable and reverse it.
Go to this link, they have a link on figuring out the correct PS.
