Since the Sonic Adventure: Limited Edition appears to be the rarest item listed so far, does anyone know if it came with packaging? I have the disc that I got from TRU but it only came in a clear jewel case.

Yes, it does come with packaging, but the packaging is decently hard to find (since the LE's were ex-rentals). Lots of Hollywoods lost/threw out the packaging/instructions, but they do exist.

Alright, since you're the second person to ask this question today, I've scanned it all in for you so you can see the differences between Limited Edition and the standard retail version.

Well, one of the rarest items in the US would be Taxi 2, because it was only released in France and only in limited quantities.
The Dreamcast Guide doesn“t feature a lot of japanese games. But i bet you that in a couple of years the most expensive titles will be some obsure japanese releases, or some of the better jap-only releases like Ikaruga.
It has been always like this (see Saturn, PCE, Mega Drive).

I have been trying to get a hold of two japanese games, Puyo Puyo 4 and Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, both seem quite hard to find. I have only seen one of them on an online auction.
There are rumours of produced versions of propellera arena as well.
A part from that, this one might be quite rare:

Puyo Puyon (puyo puyo 4) and Puzzle Fighter II aren't that rare at all. I've come across them before, and have scans of them on my site.
Dream Para Para is NOT a licensed DC product - it's an HK product, and should be treated as so (and is a shit game to boot).
Some rare Japanese games:
Record of Lodoss War (I got this when it came out. Price went up to $100 or so at one point, and is now down to about $50-$60).
Phantasy Star Online Network Trial Edition is rare, but worthless as you can't play it (I sold mine to a diehard fan as a favor, and haven't been able to find another one).
What's Shenmue doesn't seem to be growing on trees anymore either. :(
Some of the Dreamcast Direct only items are kinda tricky to buy it seems. De La Jet Set Radio is probably the best of any of them - it came w/ a shirt as well.
I've got scans of all of the above, and a video club (subtitled) from What's Shenmue that you won't see in the English version on my site if you care to take a look.

OK I wasn't aware of any of the things you mentioned, you learn something new every day.
So the ParaPara thing is a no buy!
Record of Lodoss War isn't rare if you take in to account the PAL releas, but I guess you don't. The have two or three copies in my local store.
I tried to look at your site, but it seemed broken, I'll try again tomorrow. Do any of you know of any rarity list for PAL releases?

Um, isn't that just an alternate title to Crazy Taxi 2?

Does ANYONE have an extra of Taxi 2? I had a couple possibilities shot down, and I'm kind of jonesing to get one. Worse, the eBay search mechanism caused my search query to miss the last auction.

So, it's been nine months later now. The Dreamcast has been out of print for almost another year. Gamestop has even stopped accepting used Dreamcast games at this point. Street Fighter Third Strike is going for a small fortune now. Did Kao the Kangaroo ever live up to it's "sure to be a sure rarity" hype?
What's everyone's Dreamcast rarity / demand observations?

Taxi 2 is a European release (French), not US.
Discussed earlier, rarest US Dreamcast titles (special editions and all-stars excluded), well, most of Capcom's fighters/shooters, even used ones are becoming difficult to find, but specificly:
-Gundam Side Story 0079
-SF3: 3rd Strike (my local TRU had 10 copies in 2002, only picked one for my collection, should've bought them all, just kidding)
-Cannon Spike
-Virtual On
-Power Stone 2
-Giga Wing 2
These games are very rare yet not as popular
-Reel Fishing
-4X4 Evolution
-Sno-Cross Championship
-Soldier of Fortune (this one is insane to find new/sealed, my local TRU only had 1, I got it even the store had the chance to put it ou on the floor)
Industrial Spy isn't the rarest, but med-high level as far as rarity, last fall I went to Toronto and 3 TRU stores (Don Mills, Younge/Queen, Whitby) had total of 15 copies of this game, so is Record of Loddos War, I saw a total of 8 copies in 2 stores (Cedarbrae Mal, Younge/Queen).
It seems many games were not evenly distributed, the store I worked at (ShopKo) has abundance of a few titles that no one else seemd to have at all - Marvel vs Capcom 2, Ms Pacman, Tee Off.

Man, I used to see Lodoss War for $15 all the time. I had no idea it was rare at all.

Sorry Slapdash, but I've been after this for a while aswell. Seems to have also slipped through my saved ebay searches. God bless the piss-poor current US$ - $25, that's about £13 at the moment :D

Actually, on closer examination, it seems that the seller has a whole bundle of these. He's already re-listed (and sold) another, and there's a few more in his history. I'd recommend keeping an eye on him if you're looking for this.
