Who is Nomura?

I have to ask this, having just finished a marathon gaming session with my new flatmates this afternoon ... we began with Mavel Superheroes vs. Streetighter on the Saturn, and they asked me who Nomura was ... and I have no idea. Where on earth did he come from? How on earth did he get to be a Marvel Superhero???

Norimaro (aka Norimaru) was based on a Japanese comedian, or so I've heard. When Marvel Super Heroes vs. SF was released for the Saturn, Marvel Comics didn't want Norimaro associated with their company and tried to stop American importers like NCS from selling the game. At least, that's what I remember of it.
