I have my 360 hooked up to a Sony 32" Trinitron from 2001 and it looks just fine @ 480i. Then again, it looks good on a 1988 RCA 27" Colortrak 2000 via S-video. I don't even really look at it as "making due" by keeping old TV's, as the added bonus is that all of my old systems look great on them.

On a similar note, which is better for the recent systems (excluding PS3 and 360)-widescreen or fullscreen televisions? The PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, Dreamcast, and the Wii have long confused me as to which TV is best to display the games.

I'm currently in the market for an HD CRT display. I've seen a couple go on Cragislist for under $100. The advantage is that they look perfect at any resolution (unlike an LCD), can display 720p, some have HDMI inputs, and they're widescreen.
The only downside is they weigh a ton, but I can deal with that. I just feel it's the perfect solution for my needs, as I can hook up a PC via HDMI, and all my old consoles via composite or S-Video.

Ok..it may look fine to you now..But when you hook it up to a HD and set the system on HD..You will never go back...
