And I'm not just talking about the absence of The Offspring... The controls are horrid. I can't seem to pull off drifts as easily as I could on every other version I've ever played - especially the DC version, since the 360 and DC controllers are somewhat similar, in their design.

And I won't even get into how hazy the gfx look. It looks like it's still running in standard def.

Seriously, Sega... How could you screw up Crazy Taxi this bad?

You know, I always thought it was ironic that Sega couldn't re-license music from The Offspring, considering the band's questionable views on piracy and obeying copyright law.

At this point, I really don't expect Sega to get much of anything right anymore. If it's not an original IP, then it seems that their desired standard is "good enough." They could certainly put more effort into their work, but they don't. They ported the darn game to several other platforms, so you would think that they would be able to do one more good port.

The Sonic Adventure release sounds cheap too. You have the option of paying $10 or so for DLC that upgrades the game to the DX edition.

i downloaded it last night played it for a lil while.. Personally i am fine with it.

I am not fine on the sonic re release though. Last time i played it.. theres a certain part on one of the first levels where i will go on i think it was a loop and sonic actually phases right through the ground and falls to his death. Waiting on a patch from them to fix that problem

Yeah, the PSP version of Crazy Taxi sucked terribly because they didn't have the rights to the original music. I couldn't ever get the drifting right on PSP either.

Play the GameCube or PlayStation 2 versions of the game if you can't find a copy for Dreamcast. They're the lesser of two evils.

Don't hold your breath. I remember encountering that glitch in the DREAMCAST version.

You know, the last time I played my DC copy of Crazy Taxi on my HD television, I too noted how hazy and blurry it looked. As such, I wonder if the graphics issues that diskoboy is pointing out are a problem with the source material, not necessarily the 360 port. That said, I have not played the 360 version, so I can't really compare. Just a thought...

Edit: I was using a vga box with an s-video connection, so theoretically the game should have looked sharp.

What got me was the unusual amount of graphical pop-in I was seeing in the demo. I don't recall the DC version having that much pop-in.

Yeah, the textures looked really low-res and muddy. Overall, this is a pass for me. Thankfully, I own it for the DC.

Could it be that they ported the PC version?

The S-Video still looks fuzzy. The VGA connection is amazing though (although a little impractical for a TV hookup).

That's certainly possible. An even better question is, did Digital Eclipse or Backbone Entertainment port the PC version? Is this an internal Sega hack job, or is it a farmed out to shady porting house hack job?
