I haven't had this much fun with an online MMO since Phantasy Star Online, it's fun, fun, fun. I love it. Preorder for sure!
Imo it's like a super City of Heroes, but more action oriented like Diablo, Borderlands or Champions of Norrath. It's Acton Rpg MMO for sure and has a great feel that really pulls you in.
It's fresh.

I just hope that the majority of DC characters (even the super obscure ones, like the Floronic Man) make an appearance!!
I've been rather interested in this, mainly because it's Batman related and well I'll be able to create my own little version of Two-Face. Nice to hear that it's coming along, since I'll more than likely be getting this around it's release day.

Myself and some of my guild are in the beta. Which is actually separated into two different betas. One is a PvE server only, and the other is an open PvP Server. IE: One in which Villians and Heroes can walk around and kill each other at will.
So far it's kind of interesting, and more fun then I anticipated. It's not without it's problems though, which for me that mainly UI/Controller related. IE: The game was CLEARLY developed for use with a PS3 Controller, and has certain quirks when controlled with a keyboard/mouse. Especially in terms of group based targeting, etc...
I've seen some heroes... Killed The Huntress(with the help of Catwoman) who was a dungeon/instance boss with my Villain. Fought the Scarecrow as a Hero, etc.. etc.. Fun game. Curious to see how it does at launch, and if they fix some of the games problems.

PC beta has been fun, but considering that cross platforming isn't going to be available and I just received my PS3 beta, i'm switching over to the PS3 version...WOOT.
Btw, if anyone is interested in an extra PC beta code I GOT ONE!

I signed up last night for the ps3 beta, but it has been downloading something for 14 hours now! This is crazy...it just says "Checking Player Assets" or something to that matter. Anyone know what this is and why it would be taking so long? Thanks!

14 hours??
I just launched my PS3 beta install 22 minutes ago, and I've been staring at a slow-moving progress bar. The screen reports a Maximum Speed of 23.6Mbps (Go FIOS Go!), and shows 1:33:02 remaining. (HH:MM:SS, I assume.)
I was about to come here and ask if anyone else had seen this and wondered how long it will take, what's normal, and what it's doing, that sort of thing. But man, 14 hours??? Ow. I hope mine doesn't take that long.

It fluctuates between 12 and 16 hours for me, but my internet isn't very fast. I'm going to start it tonight and hope it finishes by lunchtime. It must be big as hell, because I had to clear several gigs of stuff off my hard drive just to get it to get to that step. Looking forward to playing it, though, my brother talked me into signing up for Playstation Plus just to try the beta.

I was surprised to see this game in stores today, mainly because it wasn't advertised in any of this weeks ads(Best Buy, Target, etc.). Does anyone know how much the monthly fee is for the PS3 version?

Just found out that the monthly subscription fee is $15. I wonder how many people will want to stay around long enough to start paying for this once their 30 day free trial runs out.

I played it a few hours tonight with my brother. Lots of fun, but they still haven't fixed the frakkin' voice chat problems from the beta. It just doesn't work most of the time, so right now this an action MMO without voice chat, which leaves you pretty much mute during the fights cause text chatting will get you killed. That's just inexcusable.

Yeah seeing how well the beta has been going, I can see why people are all over this game. But eh... its decent for the time.. til better games emerge in a couple of months. ie, dota, and such.

I'm sure they will fix the bugs but once thats done will people really want to pay to play this game? PSN may be free but once you get thru month two of playing DC Universe(after your 30 day trial) you will have already paid the same amount a year of XBL cost me($30). But even if you want to compare it to the actual retail price of a 12 month XBL card($59.99) you would pay that much in just four months of playing this game.
And the yearly rate would be $180. So thats why I'm very curious to see how well this game does on the PS3(I'm not worried about the Pc version since Pc gamers are use to paying subscription fees for mmo's).
