Super rare for the Super NES:

EPROM based testing cartridge circuit board for the SNES

This thing is official, manufactured by Nintendo. I have had this in my possession since 1995. I am a former employee of Sunsoft and was mostly responsible for the horrible game Speedy Gonzales. I extend my deepest apologies to all who subjected themselves to its ludicrously long "loading times" between levels.

I'll try to come by if you post any questions here, or contact me via EBAY. Normally I don't frequent this board very often.

Interesting. Is the version of Speedy Gonzales on the prototype cart the Sunsoft or Acclaim version of the game? I don't think the Sunsoft version ever made it into production.

I have 5 of this same board with Speedy on it, no joke. I even sold one, all obtained when Sunsoft shut down...

Evan, if by production you mean manufacturing, then you are correct that there is no Sunsoft published version. However Sunsoft did produce / developed this game. They licensed it to Acclaim for publishing just after they laid off almost the whole company. The software on this test board is identical to the Acclaim cartridge, unfortunately.

Demon, I'm messaging you. I'm curious if we know each other.

Ah ok. I suspect the Sunsoft branded version was leaked on a BBS scene back in the 90s, but I would be interested if there were prototype carts of it.

Well, technically you could find those ROMs, burn them to EPROMS, install those EPROMS onto this board and there would be no way to argue it's not an original prototype. :evil laugh:
