I've been having an X'Eye for a while now and just the other day got a CDX power supply from a DP member. I've read on multiple sites that the CDX power supply is a good replacement, but I noticed one tiny thing that's different from the official X'Eye power supply. The CDX power supply input is 120V AC 60Hz 23W and the original X'Eye supply input is 120V 60Hz 25W. Do I have to worry about that 2W difference in the input between the power supply's? Just want to make sure before I use the CDX power supply on the X'Eye.

The important part when checking the power supply is the output. The cdx and x'eye need 9-10v with 1.5 amps. There is a little wiggle room with the voltage because the internal power circuit of the systems down convert it to 5 volts. The amps is what you need to keep an eye out for. Most 3rd party power supplies that claim they are compatible (just because the connector fits) only supply 850 milliamps which is a little more than half of what it needs.

Yup, should have no issues. I use a CDX adapter on my X'Eye as well, and have never had any issues whatsoever with it.

Did you just get that adapter from here on Digital Press? I inquired about it myself (to use on my CDX) but was informed it was spoken for.

Note, you can use a Genesis 2 adapter, but ONLY if you are not playing a Sega CD game. Since basically all you are powering is the Genesis side and it is sufficient. But what's the point of that? It kind of defeats the purpose of owning a CD based console.

Yeah I was the one that snatched up the CDX adapter here on DP. Thanks for letting me know about it working fine for you as well. I was just wanting to make sure that it would be perfectly ok and seeing that lower 2W difference in the input had me a little worried about using it.
