Late to the party on this and the trailer and this trailer is awesome.
Anyone actually legitimately excited for this game? Im a little but that is probably due to nostalgia I admit that. But I loved twisted metal black when I was younger and I was always pissed there wasnt a real sequel until now. It supposedly comes around in march of next year.

After reading the title I was super excited, after watching the video I'll be passing.
I stopped playing Twisted Metal after the number 3 so I don't know if they added races on the PS2 but I like my Twisted Metal to just be a demolition derby with guns. And I really don't understand the helicopter.

You should of played black , Twisted metal black didnt have races it was a remake of the 1st game. But I think from the video jaffe is trying to make a bigger story campaign , I doubt he will screw up making a next gen twisted metal where you can compete online. I think though one of the big changes is that there will be a team deathmatch based on some older tm characters like a example in that video would be like The Sweet Tooth Army , possibly a Dollface or a mr Grim army.

As long as it doesn't try to focus too much on the online component I'll pick it up. I just tire of games that spend a ton of resources on the multiplayer only to starve the Single Player experience.

I think the multiplayer is really what made the Twisted Metal games. Single player was good, but multiplayer with friends is really what made the games good in my opinion. One of the only games I've used a mulitap on was a Twisted Metal game.
Rogue Trip was also awesome. I think it was better than Twisted Metal. Bought it new for $1.99 shortly after its release.

I think rogue trip was made by the original devs of twisted metal because they lost the rights to tm for a few years but got the rights back to the series around the ps2 age.

I've been interested for awhile now, but I'll be waiting to read reviews before deciding to purchase. I have optimistic expectations though!

While I agree to a point; the only entry I ever really played with anyone was the third in the series and it was fun but most of my playtime is spent single player so that's why I say that. Its hard to get into a game and not be able to pause to take care of something. Its not bad to have a MP aspect and in these days almost seems like a prerequesite. I just hope they don't focus too much time on that component.
And Rogue Trip was an awesome game

I'll wait for review, but i'm also sure it is gonna be good, it looks great imo.
Also, Rogue Trip was GREAT and I really wish they would release it on PSN. Another car game that was really good was Vigilante 8, but the Xbox 360 remake is absolute garbage, what a waste, I mean they honestly took everything good about that game and screwed it up.

Definitely looking forward to this one. I loved TM Black on PS2 and this new one looks to be just as good.

I got the pleasure of being one of the first people to play this at E3 this year... and while they claim it was in "Alpha" at the time, as far as I was concerned I was ready to buy it. The gameplay/controls are similar to the old PSX versions, but with awesome PS3 level graphics. The Helicopter is cool and interesting to play, but the coolest part was the guy riding shotgun in your vehicle who fires the weapons (and jumps in/out of the window everytime you change them). This game is a day one purchase for me (and I rarely buy anything on launch).

New twisted metal for ps3. Exited? Hell fuckin' yeah I am! :onfire::onfire::onfire:I will have this on release day. Twisted metal is one of my favorite series and the new one looks great plus it was created by david jaffe who did the first two tm's as well as black and head on.

I keep putting off a PS3 purchase and have told myself this game will finally push me over the edge. Still waiting for reviews most likely though. I will definitely own it and beat it at some point, just not sure if I want to buy at $60 or let the price cool off a couple of months later.
