I have an original 360 that I'm trying to put in a pc case with a pc power supply so I can use liquid cooling. I can't get the darn thing to turn on. I checked my connections 100 times and I checked to make sure I'm getting the correct voltages to the correct points on the board with a multimeter. Everything checks out but it wont turn on.

The power supply power ups, the other things connected to it work but the 360 is completely dead. If I turn the power supply on with the original 360 fan hooked up to the board, the 360 fans turn on and stay on but the 360 itself wont turn on :frustrated:

Any suggestions on what could cause this issue?

Have you tried using a 360 psu to rule out if the 360 is broken.

I installed a 360 in a pc case running off a pc psu and it worked fine, what are the watts for the psu your using.

The psu is an ultra 650 watt. I ended up using another 360 board wired up exactly the same and it worked fine. Something must be wrong with the other (gamestop 100% refurb 360). I should have stopped the mod immediately when I took that 360 apart and found extra wires jumpered from the cd drive to the system fan :?

The wires you saw were to make the fans run at 12 volts, did you try to remove the mod then try the pc psu.

I tried that but it still wouldn't work. Also, the fans wont work at all if I try to return the console to stock. Oh well, I'm almost done with the mod using the other board. Everything works fine, I just need to finish the cosmetics now. Here is a pic of what it looks like now:
