Check out this link, here is a list identifying the 16 greatest toys of all time, not just video games mind you, but the best toys of all time.
If I was to tell you that two consoles made the list, you'd probably get one of them, but the other would surprise you.
Hmm, let's try this link again...

Wow, wouldn't have guessed #2 of 16, mind boggling!
Anyways they got the facts wrong on this statement
"In addition, Game Boy (the first portable, handheld game system with interchangeable game paks) was born in 1989"
Correct answer- Microvision -1979

Interesting link. Strange journalism:
"LEGO bricks are made by heating plastic to 232 degrees Celsius and injecting the doughlike result into molds."
Oh, you mean like every injection molded plastic thing?

The Dreamcast as one of the greatest "toys" of all time is some of the hokiest journalism I've ever seen. It's so out of place with the rest of the list, even the NES. Pretty dumb.

Yeah, there's some pretty surprising omissions, Lite-Brite? Hula-Hoops? There were so many things that it seems every kid had, and then they include some of the things they did....pretty surprising.

This article is about as noteworthy as most of the "news" on the front page of Yahoo!, especially all eight million of their celebrity gossip subsections and Plugged In.
A true pity videogames are still being lumped in with toys. At least Dreamcast got some love-- I assumed NES and 2600 were going to be on the list.
Well that was a complete waste of time.

I don't get it... how is this different from ANY OTHER list MSN posts? I've never seen anything worth reading on that infernal site.

I'm seriously shocked this isn't a Yahoo! article... It reads like it should be.

This.
Sorry, but I don't think the Dreamcast even belongs in the list. The Atari 2600 should have been there in it's place.
The NES, however, I expected it to be there, which it was. But Dreamcast? I love the console, but come on...

I love the DC, but agree 100%, I mean to think that anyone, regardless of whether it's Yahoo, MSN, whatever...that someone is going to complie the 16 greatest toys of all time, include 2 consoles and have the DC be one of them.
Was really surprised to see that.
As RCM mentioned, nice to see the DC get some love, but out of place on that list for sure.

Basically because it's from Good Housekeeping magazine. The list is pretty much only thing s THEY happened to report on back in the day. So for instance, if they misjudged the Atari 2600, and never wrote about it, it won't be in their list...
