Hello. Personally looking to import a Japanese PSP. The version doesn't matter as long as it's Japanese (Not a PSP-Go). If anyone is looking to sell I would highly appreciate it, as I'm not having much luck with eBay atm. I really need to play my Star Ocean First Departure ^^; Thanks in advance

Why just a Japanese one? US ones are identical to the Japanese ones.

From my understanding I will have access to the Japanese PSP Online Network as opposed to the US One (Not 100% Sure this). Mainly though because I tend to avoid US Stuff if it didn't originate from there. Hope I can get one for a decent price.

I have the 20th anniversary Final Fantasy one, I'll check and see.

If you're talking about the Playstation store on the PSP sorry it's the U.S. one that comes up not the Japanese store.

Ah, oh well. Thanks for the confirmation. Still would love to get an Import PSP though if possible. Guess if worse comes to worse I'll get a US copy (I'm itchin to play Star Ocean so badly ;;) Give me a heads up if you see one :)

I got my PSP to play First Departure too. :) Got the game with the PSP actually, as I got the Star Ocean limited edition PSP.

I don't know if you're aiming to get a used PSP to save on cash, but there's always Play-Asia if you're simply trying to locate a Japanese PSP.

Just a heads up: a US PSP is going to be about half the cost of a Japanese one. The only reason to bother getting a Japanese PSP is if you want one of the colors/editions that didn't get released here, and those can be three times (and up) the cost of a US PSP.

Well, there's also the ability to play Japanese region UMD's, they're region locked. UMD movies/videos didn't catch on here, not sure of over there either, but they did get a whole lot more of them in Japan.

You can access the japanese psp store on a US psp,a simple google search is all you need.

That doesn't make sense. You can easily access the Japanese PSN from a US PSP. Just create an account with a Japanese address. That is all you need to do.

The ONLY difference, as has been mentioned, is that UMD movies are region-locked. Games are region free and you can access any region PSN from any region PSP.

All you would be doing by getting an import PSP is wasting money.

Why do you seem intent to buy someone when you said yourself that you are NOT 100% sure what the functions are?
