So I just got Suikoden Teirekas... or whatever... and while I'm enjoying playing it, it has one serious problem: the save spots are really far in between bouts of play time. Nothing like going thru a dungeon, beating the boss, beating another boss after that one, having to walk all the way back thru the long ass dungeon, just to have the DS run out of battery before I can get back out. XD Now I realize that I could just charge my DS every day when I'm not using it, but the thing is, I have a terrible memory problem. Usually when I need to put the DS on the charger, I end up forgetting it there and wind up on the bus with nothing to do.

So I'm wondering if anyone made a portable battery back up for the DS like the Game Gear has (ok so that was a rechargeable batter pack, but still, same thing in concept). I think it would be awesome and pretty much solve my problem, but I've never heard of anything like this. Does anyone know if any company made something like this?

Buy a new battery if it's losing a charge that fast. You can get em from Nintendo's website.

Also, turn the brightness down, it raises the battery life by HOURS.

It isn't losing battery life quickly. It's just a matter of me carrying it around until the light goes red. Once it goes red, you have about ten to fifteen minutes of juice left. Unfortunately, in some games that's not enough time to get to a save spot. XD

And I'm using a DS Lite. I don't think they have a brightness adjustment on them, do they?

Yes, they do have a brightness adjustment. Boot it up without a cart and there's a little light bulb in the corner that lets you adjust the brightness. The lower you go, the longer the batteries last.

They do make external DS emergency chargers (essentially a rechargeable battery or a AA battery box on a cord that outputs enough power to "charge" the DS).

Just ebay search "DS external battery" and you'll find all manner of them.

I'm sure it's mileage may vary on each one, but if your issue is emergency charging on the go, it'll keep your battery going long enough for you to get home.

Wow, didn't know that Maxlord. I'm used to the little button that has three settings and since I didn't see one, I didn't think it had any way to adjust it.

Thank you! This is exactly what I need.

What brightness is the DS LIte screen set to by default? I changed mine and cannot remember lol. Was it by default set to the brightes level or the 2nd brightest?

Pretty sure the default setting is the lowest level. I could be completely wrong though.
