Uh, the Wii one? Or the DS one?? BOTH?!?!?
I want it (them?) but I'll wait for the inevitable price-drop.

I played the Wii version. 3D sonic actually being good is something that hasn't happened since Adventure.

That sound you hear is the universe collapsing into itself.
I had also heard that this game was redemption for the Sonic series. Looking forward to grabbing this one when time and budget allow. Now if only the same thing would happen to the Spyro series.......

Yeah I picked it up day of release and must say "Wow", its still not 100% great but after the shit we have received from Sonic Team over the last 10 years this is a marked improvment.
/me waits patiently for the Sonic Fan Remix

It's certainly on a par quality-wise with SA2 (which I still rate higher than SA1- the 15% of it that was devoted to Sonic at the very least) and there's certainly enough there to justify a purchase.
Entertainingly, it's also much better than Sonic 4 in every imaginable way.

The DS titles are much better than Sonic 4 (especially Rush Adventure). I suspect the people praising it had never actually played them.

Sonic's 3D titles have sucked for the last decade, but his DS titles have been really good. Rush Adventure is the best one. The original rush had a really crummy level design, through it had really good characters.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see what is so special with this. It's far too easy and doesn't present any sort of a challenge like a traditional Sonic game would.
It has high production values and anyone that just briefly checks it out is going to be impressed because of it. But after putting in a bit of time into it, it's just way too easy of a game. Unless it drastically ramps up in difficulty later in the game, I'm not too terribly impressed.
I should add that I'm talking about the Wii version.

The GBA games were good too.
If you ignore the console Sonic games, we've actually been getting decent Sonic games for awhile now. You just have to stick with the handheld versions. :)
