I've kinda taken a liking to Giant Bomb. You can track your collection, as well as making customizable lists.
I've pushed out a ton of updates lately. Check out this sample collection: http://vgcollect.com/scott

Really like your collection site. I've been helping adding stuff over there (go by Strickler80).

I use this software and the pro version does everything. I am able to track original cost, current value, complete, condition, covers, etc. The latest version now adds hardware.
UPDATE:
VGCollect Mobile BETA is now available on Android!

So MDK, what progress have you made on VGCollect in the last two months?

Oh man, so much has happened that I know I won't be able to remember it all. Most notably the site is just growing at a crazy rate. Users are adding an average of 22 new items a day and submitting around 60 edits. There are also around 7 new users signing up each day.
The growth has really overwhelmed me. We've added a few mods that are helping out, approving edits, etc.
I've been spending most of my time fixing bugs and adding new features. We've got Wishlist coming soon as well as a need list, that will automatically list all items you need for a certain category. The search and browse features have also been drastically improved and now show you if you already have an item in your collection.
I'm sure that I'm missing more and if you are interested just hit up our forums. We are always discussing the direction of the site and I'd love more feedback.
I just signed up today, too bad that there isn't an iphone application but i still love the site! Even submitted a few pieces today.

Is anyone else having a problem with not being able to find this on the Android Market? I can find it on the website, but it won't download to my Xperia X10.
What version of Android do you have? It should show up on anything 2.1 or higher. If not drop me a PM here or on the site and I can send you the install file.

I just signed up... what the hell, right?
I hope it's easy to add PC games there.

I have 1.6 because I have an at&t branded phone and can't upgrade manually to anything higher

We are rapidly approaching 16000 items in the database, with more coming in everyday! Several categories are getting almost complete, we do need more Atari contributors though. I spend about 2 hrs every morning approving submissions, so the site is definitely growing! If you want to keep updated on our progress, become a fan on facebook.

Awesome site-I'm adding a bunch of specific titles I didn't see on there right now.
Check out how many submissions Super Mario Bros 1 has. I could barely find mine. Nuts.

Nice to see that a section for Steam games has been added to the site.
Oh, and I updated my phone (hooray for debranding!), love the app!

We have had some issues lately but will be upgrading our servers within the next month. Everything should be rock solid.

I believe it might be worth my time to create an account on this website.
Things are going crazy over at vgcollect. Tons of new users and items. I just pushed out a new wishlist feature to compliment your collection. Check it out if you haven't yet.

Just started adding my collection. Still have a LONG way to go. Noticed some things are not listed. I will have to submit them when I get a chance. :)

So, six months later, the site is still growing. There's over 20,000 games now and there's been a bunch of new platforms added, including the Casio Loopy.
Join us... or don't, whatever, but please join us. :P

Completely forgot about this site. I still prefer Backloggery, although that probably has more to do with me not wanting to enter my entire collection onto another damn site.

I'm thinking about jumping in on this. First impression, though: in firefox at my resolution (1776x1000 not sure if this has anything to do with it) the formatting is messed up. Works fine in IE and Chrome.
I don't relish re-entering all my stuff since I have maybe 3/4 of it in RFgeneration already.

I run Firefox at 1920x1080 and the site looks fine. What version of Firefox are you using? And could you post a picture?

Its obviously not a huge deal, but here's the screenshot. I'm running 9.0.1. The picture makes it look like the text is garbled. It is not, but you can see where the main part of the page is 'cut off' at the top by the banner thing.

Aha. I see the problem. You have text magnification turned on. It's the same problem someone else had with DP's new forum layout in Off-Topic. :)
Click on View - Zoom - and then reset. It'll work after that.

Well I just upgraded to Firefox 9, so it's not the browser itself. It has to be something in the settings that's causing that. :\
Oh well, I tried.

It is appreciated. I've checked any settings that seem like they'd be relevant, but nothing has worked so far. I'd love to figure it out, though, since I suspect the same problem might be messing up the occasional other site as well.

Cool site so far. Thanks for the Android app. I am just starting to put my collection in and of course I start out with Colecovision, which is missing about 20 of my games. I'd gladly start entering info but I have one big issue. I have tons of old atari, etc games and have them all logged in RFGen. I saw the Import function is disabled. Any ideas when that will be available? It will take me way too long to manually add my collection. I don't mind spending the time pulling pics and stuff but to do the manual adds just takes too much extra time.

So what advantages does this have over RF Generation?
Kitsune Sniper
01-22-2012, 03:34 PM
It's not just for video games. The site also tracks other collectibles, like books, toys, LCD games, posters, strategy guides, music CDs, and swag in general. Some things are still in the works, though. Plus, if you have some weird variant nobody's heard of, you can add it right away, without having to wait for a mod to approve or reject your submission.
Unfortunately, there's no way to import your collection from other sites... -yet-.
You can use it to track the stuff that isn't tracked by RFGeneration. VGCollect isn't going to replace it. :)

Being able to add your own variants could be nice but it I really don't like the thought of starting from scratch again.

I'm with ya there.
My collection was fairly complete at VG Rebirth and now they're all but dead. I started to add my collection at RF Generation, but grew weary of the idea of having my stuff on yet another site.
ATM, I'm adding my collection to spread sheets and will be adding the data to my own site. I'm tired of not remembering if I have a certain game or not, accidentally double dipping, etc.

What the heck happened to VGRebirth anyway? I used to have an account there too, but hated having to wait to add a variant. ... which was the same issue I had with RFGeneration.

Tried to contact RevQuixo without any success about 2 months ago. PMs were sent without answer. After over 6 months without anything on the website, I decided to rebuild with vgcollect.

So hey, what's up.
Yes, I'm bumping a year old thread because we just celebrated our two year anniversary! (http://vgcollect.com/forum/index.php/topic,2258.msg25313.html) So here I am, publicly inviting people to take another look at the site since our admin is too lazy to come here and post about it. The site is still in development, but we track more platforms and collectibles now.
... I suck at making these posts, blah. :P

I started using it recently and love it. Highly recommended. I like it so much better than the bland RFgeneration. Great site.
