There's no easy way into the box that I can see.
I figured this would be the one time I'd have a valid and useful reason to watch an unboxing video on Youtube. It was mildly painful to see people nearly butcher their boxes to get them open and since they were collectors, how much it pained them to do so. I have to wonder what the heck Nintendo was thinking this time around. All of their prior packaging has been relatively pain free before this thing. Anyone pick this unit up and if so, how's your packaging look? :drinking:

All of these LE's and special bundled DS's have had sealed boxes. Opening them rips em up. No way around it.

My wife bought me a DSi XL for Xmas. I was a bit disappointed when I saw it wasn't the 25th Anniversary model. She knows nothing about video games, but I thought surely during the holidays the stores would be pushing or at least suggesting the Anniversary package, so I figured my chances of getting that model were almost certain. I had only requested she buy me one in an "adult color". She decided on a blue model that came with Brain games - because she thought she would enjoy playing those! I played Brain games for about 5 minutes and was bored stiff. She played for 5 minutes and then went back to playing with my gift to her, a Kindle.
It was my own fault for not being specific enough and I certainly would have enjoyed Mario Kart more than Brain games. Not to mention I'm pretty sure Mario Kart was an honest to goodness real game with a case and manual, where as Brain games came pre-loaded into memory or something because I have nothing to show for it.
But I know I wouldn't have enjoyed tearing the packaging apart to get to my new DSi. I like having the box for my consoles and I can always pick up Mario Kart later if I want.
So maybe Xmas turned out better for me than I had thought after all. :)

dang, I opened mine on the side like that, but then wasn't sure the best way to get past that inner white piece. I ended up cutting it along the top back edge. It wasn't so bad, but then I noticed at some point, probably putting the right side back in, that I'd torn in from the corners on the front a bit. sucks.

If they got it in there and sealed it up, it can be unsealed just as neat... there has to be a way.
