Ok, I got a copy of this today, the front cover was missing and the discs were kept seperate. I am trying to figure out what was used to hold the three discs that came with it. Envelopes, Additional Plastic holder that attaches to the front cover, what?

Thanks, and a picture to go with the answer from that cool dude that has it complete would be great. I can't find a picture of the insides anywhere.

I think it used additional plastic holders like the ones used in multi-disc Sega CD/Saturn games.

My copy of the game has two discs (I think, might be 3) in paper sleeves.

The one that I saw at a used game store must have had a replacement case then.

I think Kitsune's right. I just pulled down my copy and the other discs are in paper sleeves. The sleeves are notched so they sit snugly on top of the one disc in the holder (stacked one on top of another). Still a little cheaply done but who am I to judge.

I can confirm this too. One disc is held in the case, while the other two stay in notched paper sleeves.

Which version of D is harder to find? The longbox or jewel case? I've found 2 each so far but it sounds like the jewel case is rarer based on what I've read.

Paper notched sleeves, jewel case is harder to find. :)

I've been trying to replace my copy of D with a jewel case version for years. :(

Not really. They're fragile, take up WAY more space than other PS games, a good number are too exposed to shelfware upon being removed from their shrinkwrap.

It was a novelty used to compete w/ US Saturn/SegaCD games that rightfully went away after the first 18 or so months.

That's funny, I absolutely love the long boxes, especially the ones w/ extra artwork on the inside of the case (like Resident Evil). I can understand the space issue, and the fact that the glue wears out and it starts peeling, AND that it gets shelfwear too easily but still... they look bad ass.

Find sleeves, use scissors.

Yeah, but it gives us another clear subset to collect like the Black Boxes of NES. I thought I was going to go for a full set myself, but I've taken a long break after I got about halfway there.

But yes, if you care about condition, you'll swap out plenty of the longbox cases over time. It seems like at least 50% of the hinged longboxes I buy always arrive cracked or with broken hinges. Better to have a placeholder than nothing, but I definitely upgrade when I get a dupe.
