Not working for me either, probably just down for a short time and will come back up later. There's possibly an update going on too, not sure.

Any ideas as to when it will be back up?

It's been down for awhile. It would be nice if someone would post something before or during the downtime letting us know what is going on and when it will be back on.

The entire link on the main page has been taken out as well.
I hope it returns. It was a valuable site for me. Or at least release a new DP Gude! :)

Yeah, I miss it. I use it every time I log in a new game.

OH it's down? Ok, I was worried it was removed, since I can't seem to find it. Hopefully an update is taking place.

There is a lot of bugs still, we are still upgrading things. We have our top men working on it.

Does DP no longer have the rarity guide? TIA.
--Timster--
Awesome, glad to hear it's only a temporary thing. I tell ya, I know someone has mentioned it before but if anyone has the capabilities of developing the DP Rarity Guide into a iOS app, i'd buy it.
Have it download the guide digitally to the device, allow users to have the function of cataloging their collection.. it'd be sick =]

There is a thread asking the same question at the top of this forum page and answers the question too. There isn't any need to make multiple threads.

If I had ANSWERS for you before today I would have posted them, but we went through TWO server changes in the past month and the online guide is a complicated application that has its own unique set of parameters that also require "people" time.
The webhost that we're presently on looks to be a good fit for us, and claims to support the software we'll need to install to get the guide back online.
Please be patient with us during this transition. We are doing the best we can but it IS a side project for all involved :)

I hope we're all aware of that. Most of us at least are very grateful that this site exist due to the generosity of you and your volunteers.
I think there was just some alarm because the actual shortcut on the left sidebar was removed entirely, which suggested that it might just not be temporary and related to the server move.
Anyways, glad to hear it will be back. Was wondering what was up and searched and found this thread. Thanks for the updates.

No need to get worked up into a lather over a database provided free of charge. Nobody here "had to" put it online at no cost in the first place.
I'd like to see it back up myself but if I "needed" the info that badly, I'd just buy one of the guides the information was in to begin with.

I'm patient, and cool without it; however, it was one of the key features of the site. The guide is the reason I kept coming back to this site, and became interested in the forums. The title of the site stills reads "Digital Press- The Videogame Database"

You mean one of these excellent sources of video game collectors' information, chock full of not just game rarity and price listings but excellent lore from fellow collectors (http://www.digitpress.com/dpg_plug.htm), all available at a pittance of a price? Nah, nobody would ever want to pay for valuable information. ;)

But... we are the database, not the guide. :D
The Collector's Guide to the Game-axy is well on its way to returning. Don't hold your breath, but expect it back about March 15th or earlier.

You guys plugging the guides do realize that the Classic Guide is sold out, right? :P And the Advance Guide stops with the Dreamcast (and as far as I know, some sections in the online database may be more up-to-date than the 2004 guide). Not that I don't think it's a great idea to buy the guides, but there are reasons to want the online database as well beyond being a cheapskate or something. It's also great to alter the search details to suit your needs, which you can't do with a book.
Anyway, it's great that it's back up. :)

Link no longer works, unfortunately. :(
Any chance of getting a "Slashbunny" or (how it was called ) video game list? I need a Colecovision printed list from the sub-section.
Unless someone on DP has one, which would be appreciated. :)

Please let me know in the future if it stops working by sending me a PM. Thanks!

I know this may be a stupid question but, why haven't newer games like The legend of Wukong, Star Odyssey and Pier Solar been added to the Genesis database?
