I picked up one of these for a friend, and set it up for him, and it all works just fine, but there is something called ak2loader that's also available from the website, and for the life of me, I can't figure out what the hell it's for.

The official site and a google search have turned up nothing other than 'it's a ROM loader' which makes no sense because the AK2i loads ROMs just fine with just the AKAIO software. I installed it anyway following the instructions, and I don't see anything added in terms of menus and whatnot.

Does anyone here know about this thing?

I've never used this, since I never had the need for it.

I would recommend the AKAIO loader, though. Also, remember to upgrade the firmware on it to the latest one!

I think that's just the official 2i software from the Acekard team. No need for it anyway since you put AKAIO on there instead.

That's what confuses me. The instructions are specifically for installing it within the AKAIO folder structure.

I think the card has the latest firmware, since it's in the 'Merry Christmas' packaging and supposedly works with the latest DSi firmware.

EDIT: LOL, and the ak2loader already exists elsewhere in the AKAIO install, just in a different folder.

This thing is actually a great little device, but good lord are the instructions on the official site ever vague and contradictory.
