What is up with the # of top-loaders ?

What is up with the # of top-loaders on E-Bay lately .
This is a search of all in the last month.

And people are calling these rare ?

Well according to eBay Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is very rare. I find that odd, a game that sold so well it made Greatest Hits status "rare." Many people's definition of rare needs to be adjusted to "in high demand."

No kidding. Still, it's ensuring that my sealed copy of Rondo is $350 or so, so I'm okay with it :P

Heh.....you have to remember that toploaders were SO common that Wal-mart was selling em for $10 new for a while on clearance and no one was buying them. Then they all vanished and now they're "rare". But I think that's more in comparison with the number of NES frontloaders out there than them being actually rare.

NES Top-loaders (sigh)...

I got my my one-and-only top-loader (which for that matter, was my first NES) at Goodwill for $5, and a SNES for $10 that same day. No shite. This was back in 1996 when I first started collecting systems in the pre-Ebay salad days.

So get a load of this: I decided I didn't like the top-loader because it didn't have composite video jacks. So I took it to a now-defunct local game store and traded it for a front-loader :roll: I had no idea what I was doing, but the old crone behind the counter did. "Sure, sonny. We'll trade straight across. Heh heh heh....".

Nowadays,when I get a penchant to play Shingen the Ruler I am instead greeted by a blinking red power light....
