My friend found this in his Garage, and donated it to me. All my research tells me is that the game is not particularly valuable per se.. But I've never owned a sealed copy of anything until now.

If I were to put this to an eBay auction, what do you 'spose would be a fair reserve/starting price/what-have-you?

In that condition, you should just keep it and play it. You'll be lucky to get a couple bucks on Ebay if anyone actually bids.

Box is squished. Just look at the portion of the box that says GAME BOY. There is some good squishage there.

Sealed games mean something if the boxes are mint. Less than pristine sealed stuff tends to just pull the same amount as a CIB copy of a game, since those who are buying sealed are aiming for perfect.

The picture lies!

Upon further inspection, yes, there is a tiny wrinkle at the bottom corner. However, I am under the impression that the picture I took (angle and so forth) makes it seem worse than to the naked eye.

What if it were pristine? How much would you charge a collector?

$5, tops. The supply far outweighs the demand.

Loose copies can go for over $5.

Here's a complete copy.

I'd say a sealed one would be worth between $10-$20.

If you decide to sell, let me know. The box looks to be in decent shape despite the crease.

There aren't any completed auctions (that I can find) of a factory-sealed copy... Who knows? Maybe someone is dying to complete their mostly-sealed Gameboy Color collection with this one. I feel like someone may pay 25-40 bucks. At least I would, if I were in that situation..

i agree with the $10-$15 range.
I have gotten about 10 sealed gameboy games for $25 and under and they are more desireable than this one.

I would trade you for it as i have been on a GB/GBC kick the past 6 weeks or so and have been building up my collection

The answer is $9.99 plus shipping. There should be no argument, it's Top Gear Pocket for the love of God.

Maybe, if you packaged it with $15-30 in cash.

I'm sorry, but considering Ebay only allows you to search the last two weeks of completed auctions, that's a completely ridiculous claim. You asked for our honest opinions and we gave them to you. I'm really getting tired of this greedy mentality that some people seem to have that just because they find something sealed it must be valuable. Heck, I have tons of 2600 and NES sealed mint games that are still only worth a few dollars or in the case of the NES, maybe $15-$20. Those games are 20-30 years old and still they have little or no value, especially compared to their original retail price. This crappy GBC game which isn't even mint is worth very little. I'm sorry, but that's the reality.

Didn't aim to be greedy. I agree with you. I was simply giving my nooby opinion/wishful thinking. Chill, dude :)

Thaaat's funny.

People really need to get over the perceived value of shrinkwrap.

I just like that it's CIB. If I obtained it, the shrinkwrap would end up in the garbage and I'd pop the game in and give it a whirl. ;)
