Not too sure where to classify this game, as it is a modern freeware independent student-made 3D game for Windows PCs. Therefore "Modern Gaming" seems as good of a category as any to post about this nifty innovative title!
OctoDad won the 2011 Independent Games Festival's Student Showcase and it is easy to see why - it is charming, well-made, and creative. You play the role of an octopus in a business suit who has been hiding his real identity for years from his human family and business associates. Tonight his grand plan will reach completion if he can obtain only a few objects. Your goal is to lead him to these, which for an octopus trying to walk upright and move objects with what are less than arms is no easy task!
The game is freeware and located at http://octodadgame.com/ and is a quick download on a broadband connection at only about 300 MB. It is quite challenging to get Octodad to move like you'd like him to move. After the first two areas I needed a break!
The game isn't too long but it is an innovative, short little ride that really works your mind and creativity, not from the game being super challenging but from having to approach things from a different perspective.
