It's pretty impressive that people are still discovering secrets in SMB after all these years.

If you can't trust a guy named Mother Fucker Mike, who can you trust?

It's call a Game Genie. Super high jump code for the win.

No kidding.
Galoob was freaking using the "jump over the flag in Super Mario Bros." concept in their advertising for the Game Genie about 20 years ago.
Better luck next thread.

Yeah, I remember doing this years ago as well. Running and running until time runs out. I've never seen the thing with the turtle though.

It's not easy, but you can do it.
Also, this is nothing new. Not to be a history teacher or anything, but in Nintendo Fun Club Vol 2 circa 1987 I think they refer to jumping over the flagpole.....heck they even talked about minus world and the turtle tip and all sorts of crazy stuff way back then....

This has been spammed on pretty much every message board that has anything to do with video games...
but yeah dtr is right it was in the fanclub news, (only the 3-3 version) but the turtle head hop has been pretty public knowledge ever since the speedrun people started getting hardcore. it has a few fun aplications in other levels too.

i know it can be done because i have done it a few time...when i say few i mean twice..once as a kid, and once in i would say the last ten years.

I've only ever done it by using the Game Genie. It's pretty cool that there's possibly a 'legit' way of doing it.
I'll have to try it out some time.

Yeah, I loved it when I clicked on the video and the first thing my 7 year old son hears is, "Mutha Fuckin' Mike here.....blah blah blah".
Change your god damn fuckin' name, you scum eatin' shit bag! No one wants to listen to that crap.

The internet wasn't made for kids. It's not the dude who made the videos fault that your kid heard it. It's yours.
Anyway, cool trick. Mike and James visit digital press sometimes. You can be sure this trick is legit.

I actually was kinda annoyed the guy felt like introducing himself that way. I recognize it's his "identity" and all that, but seriously?
Classy.

It's a video by Cinemassacre. There's logo is a camera with a fucking chainsaw jutting out of it, and the Nerd is one of the most foul mouthed guys on the Internet. Despite all of that, you guys are really surprised and put off by the Motherfucker Mike's screen name?

Can I just revel in the irony of these two lines...placed next to each other for a few more seconds? Thanks.

Thanks for the lesson, who are you???
It's no big deal what the guy calls himself, but he kinda limits his audience. Not all of us can surf the net from the comfort of your Mom's basement. ;)

Wow.. I can't believe this shit is actually real. I heard about this in 1986? 1987?
But- I never thought it was legit... never saw it done..
I thought I read a decade ago this was fabricated.
Cool.
Thanks for making my night.
