View Full Version : Genesis Sonic & Knuckles 'Not for Resale' cart... Pack-in or Promo?

I've got a Sonic & Knuckles cart with a Not for Resale sticker on it. I'm assuming this was a pack-in at some point, but can't find any info, and haven't seen any others with this sticker. Does anyone know?

My immediate response to that photo is that, hey, that sticker is the one that was affixed to Sonic 2 carts. I don't recall seeing any bundles of S&K with anything else, but I could be wrong.

It's a pack-in, back when Sonic & Knuckles came out there was a Model 2 Genesis bundle that came with both Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles.

That sticker came from a different game.
My new Model 2 Genesis (circa 1996) came with just Sonic and Knuckles packed in. No stickers.

I've seen that sticker on a lot of S&K carts over the years.

As was mentioned already, that's a legit sticker. The Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles Model 2 bundle had that same sticker on the Knuckles cart. I'm pretty sure some of those Model 2 Sonic & Knuckles only bundles probably had the sticker as well at some point. The sticker might have only been used for a short amount of time before Sega said screw it and stop putting them on the pack-in carts.
Usually Sega prints NFR on the label. A sticker can easily be removed. I think it came from elsewhere.

Thanks for all the help guys. Like I said, I figured it was just a pack-in, but didn't want to miss something special (and didn't think to look through ebay pictures; Google images didn't turn up any).
It is for sale cheap if anyone wants it.

i thought i remember seeing those back when i was 12 when i use to flip through the sears christmas catalogs (yea i was a lame 12 y/o so sue me lol) and seeing it in stores
