Hey guys, I have found myself coming to this forum a lot in my googling. Thre seems to be a lot of talk and interest for usb adapters and old school controllers. I figure some of you may dig this a bit.

As this project is mainly a hobby, custom designs are ok.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

FYI Version 1 was mainly for controller buttons and sticks. Version 2 will be for things like mempaks and rumble. Otherwise, Version 1 supports every aspect of the controller possible. For example there is a method for PSX pressure, saturn 3d controller works, and all switches do what they should.

Features
* Auto Pause, most controllers have an auto pause when the controller is unplugged. When you are in the middle of a game and your fried, wife, or otherwise clueless parter trips over your cord resulting in NO GAME CONTROLE, the game will pause Wink

* Auto Detect, no switches needed. The Bliss-Box will detect the controller. The Bliss-Box is Out of the Box ready. Nothing need, no drivers, wiring, or setup. Plug in the controller, then the Bliss-Box, and you are done.

* Upgrades. The chip is designed to be upgraded via the neogeo connector. If you know how to use an avr-isp you can do this on your own, otherwise it requires shipping to be upgraded. For avr info see the technical page.

* Full emulation, each controller is fully emulated unless otherwise stated. For example psx2 pressure sensitive buttons work! Version 1.0 of the Bliss-Box did not indented to support rumble or mem pack reading. This is planned in 2.0 (see 2.0 notes in "what is new new" section)

2.0 is also available but only in beta. You can request 2.0 if you like but understanding its beta.

*Auto Pause Detection, In addition to auto pause with 2.0 you can switch controllers in the fly. When you unplug, for example, a Saturn controller you can then choose any detectable controller and plug it in. The Bliss-Box will auto detect this controller and resume functionality without a flinch by the user. Very few controllers are not detectable. For example the Atari, Intellivision are not detectable, most others are.

* Global button mapping, In addition to the auto detection all buttons are laid out the same to mach common set ups. For example the snes y, b, x, a, are mapped like the neo-geo a, b, c, d, So that when you swith from one to the next you use the controller in the same manner. Both left most buttons ( snes:Y or neo:A ) are mapped to the emulator the same. Obviously some choices had to be made. See this spread sheet for details. Open to suggestions

* Force Feedback, Yes vibration ( rumble ) is supported in 2.0 with no drivers required. It was developed for a windows system and may or may not work on the ps3, linux or mac ( just never been tested). The following controllers support rumble: DreamCast, Nintendo 64, Playstation 1,2, and Game Cube

*UDLR mode, This mode will map all Up,Down,Left,Right buttons to the corresponding analog movements. So that you can switch to digital in the game and back out at any time. To do this you press shoulder left, shoulder right and the pause button all at once. To exit, press the same.

I see this before on a different site and never noticed till now that there's no xbox port. It got everything but the xbox control support.

Its the port top right of the saturn on the left pic. Its just the small connector not the big one you see on the XBOX. The second image is a custom design and the XBOX was not asked for. The XBOX port is just a patch trough cable for the XBCD project. So yeah you can plug an XBOX in to this and it will work if you have the XBCD drivers installed but its not part of this project.

$150 for all of them seems pretty high.

BUT. Being able to lower the price by keeping certain connectors out is pretty damn awesome. I have no use for the Atari / PCE / 3DO /NeoGeo stuff, but the rest?

Looks like a worthwhile purchase.

Oh yeah, its a matter of liking for sure. Making those by hand is why its costly. And Mass-production is no easy feet.

My bad didn't see that xbox breakaway port. I was talking to the creator accouple of years ago about make a multi tap that could fit in an empty disk/cd drive sort. The guy said it was possible. I might message him asking if he could do me up one.

This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Forget buying 100 different USB controllers when I already own them for my consoles. This is so much more convenient!

geezuzkhrist119, the issue was the usb connection. You need to know how to connect it internally. I'm sure you could use a usb cable and make your own connector, or splice wires but the best was would be to send in the length you need and the style your MB uses. I know it can be done, I saw talk about this.

Graham Mitchell, have you seen the support for saturn? OMG! Lets do the list 3d pad, regular pad, wheel, eclipse, mission stick, and more! Fully supports all aspects of the saturn. Make sure to request to be a 2.0 beta tester, see the main sight last news post.

Hey Andred, this was the entire idea of the creation. Most people just order a few controllers or so and not the full blown version. The cool thing about this, is you can be playing snes with a friend and when they says the inevitable ( If this were the PSX version I'd kick your ass ) You can pause the game ans switch it out. The psx buttons are mapped the same way so that all controller work x-plat for ( as much as possible ) See here

This is only on the 2.0 version.

I always said that if I could use an N64 controller for modern FPS games I'd be back in my element. I may have to consider an option like this.. Although it'd be pricey.

Is this for USB conversion only? Or does it go from system to system too?

Is this for USB conversion only? Or does it go from system to system too? Thats is planned in 3.0. There is an xbox version in the works that is basicaly 2.0 onthe xbox.

Red Baron, what's pricy? n64 adapters are all over the place, not only with this project?

I notice Amiga doesn't appear anywhere on the compatibility list. I know that Amiga controller ports will accept Genesis/SMS/Atari controllers, but my concern is the CD32, which has some very specific buttons. As such, a Genesis 6 button controller won't work 100% on a CD32 console. Any plans to address this?
