I will very soon be working in Japan for a year and was wondering if anyone had some helpfull advice for finding and buying "classic" games there.

Where should I go, what should I be looking for, what should I ask.

For a place the size of California, Japan is actually a fairly big place. And it's not easy or cheap to travel throughout it ($300 from Tokyo to Osaka). Where exactly will you be staying? You'll find several vintage game shops in most of the bigger cities. I could give you help/directions for the Kansai area.
