I'm a huge trivia buff, and the You Don't Know Jack series has always been my favorite.
The combination of minimalist/stylish presentation, non-stop pop-culture-references and hilarious fuzzy-logic puzzles makes it tons of fun for 1st timers as well as seasoned Jack vetrans.
I was extremely happy to read last year that THQ was reviving the series on PS3, 360, DS and Wii (with online play on PS3 and 360) and I didn't keep up with the release info until this week when I saw that February 8th was the official release date!!!
I'm also super jazzed that Cookie Masterson (my favorite host from previous entries) will be back as the host for this version!
Apparently it works with Kinect on 360 ... but sadly the PS3 Buzz! Buzzers aren't compatible at launch (they could always patch it later) Move wands should work though.
Any other Jack-heads out there looking forward to this release?

Wow seriously considering picking this one up! My parents and I when I was younger used to play this all the time on our home computer. The greatest part was "screwing" the other players! Haha great memories and maybe I can convince my mom to play on the ps3 with me.

FYI for you and any other Jack fans out there, the PS1 versions (You Don't Know Jack and You Don't Know Jack Mock 2) are very cheap on the 2nd hand market and both work great on any PS3 with up to at least two players.
AND I'm relatively sure that you can set up three controllers in multi-tap arrangement via the PS1 software emulation. I could be wrong (I'll test it out and report back), but at the very least both games are still a crap load of fun.

Wow, I'm seeing buy it nows for under $5 on both. You can't go wrong - just make sure that the 1st game has both discs.
ALSO in PS1 mode on a PS3 this setup should allow for 3 players on a virtual multi-tap for You Don't Know Jack/You Don't Know Jack Mock 2.
Under the PS Setup Menu assign the controllers as follows -
PLAYER 1 - Controller 1-A
PLAYER 2 - Controller 1-B
PLAYER 3 - Controller 1-C

Better yet! You Don't Know Jack: The Game Show!
Yeah, yeah I remember the one they did back around 2001, I believe? It was all threatical antics and rarely goofy questions and witty YDKJ humor.
Anyway, I'm getting really sick-n'-tired of these over-the-top, super-inflated, mega-million slowfests. They're not as fun to watch or as engaging as worthwhile shows like Double Dare and the Price is Right.
Back OT...I had YDKJ on a PS1 sample collection disc and it was fun as hell to play. My favorite part was the Impossible Question that asked "What has four legs, a tail, and barks?". I was hesitate to answer for a moment. ;)
I bought the Wii version of this latest entry in the series. What versions did you guys buy for comparison's sake? In the Wii release you can only use the Wii remote controllers - in other words, even if have some GameCube controllers and only one Wii controller, you don't have the option of local multi-player. Which again is a problem, because the Wii version doesn't support online Internet-based multi-player or leaderboards.
For motion control haters this is a great game though - you never use the Wii's motion controls or pointing ability to play the game, just the A button and D-pad. And if you don't like the Miis, there's more good news because there is no support for those either. And just like 99% of the Wii games out there, the DLC won't be available for this platform, only for the XBOX360/PS3 releases.
Interestingly enough, the short game option (which is half the duration of a normal game) is not present in this release, just the normal ten question game. And for whatever reason, there is no randomness to the question selection - a question will always be grouped into the same set of questions, so if you recognize one you'll be ready for the whole set. I could understand keeping questions grouped like that for cohesiveness's sake, but it wouldn't have been so much to ask for a randomized "best of Jack" choice, would it?
But on the bright side the writing is just as funny as ever, the pre-picked names that the game gives you if you don't enter your own are hilarious, and if you have multiple Wii controllers or friends that have their own, this is a great game for gatherings.
Does anybody know if the DS version of "You Don't Know Jack" has voiced questions and answers... or any voice work at all?

360 version has Scene It? Controller support if I remember correctly.
Now, to find an IR receiver...

PS3. The episode/question grouping was a bit of a head scratcher, but there's a "downloadable content" section and trophies that mention "Jack Packs" so it looks like they'll be selling episodes in the near future, so I suppose that makes sense.
The look, sound and feel is vintage Jack. I'm pleased to see that they didn't mess with any of that. And as you mentioned the writing is spot-on.
I also like that there's no "buzzing in" and all players are welcome to answer questions with a time bonus. That helps keep people participating in the game.
All of that coupled with the bargain price of $30 NEW, it's all I could hope for in a modern Jack game.

I grabbed this yesterday and went through 7 games or so with the wife. She'd never played YDKJ before, but she certainly enjoyed it.
I laughed my ass off at some of the achievements, particularly Turncoat (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/you-dont-know-jack/achievement/47883-Turncoat.html): Play on the 4th of July instead of celebrating America.

since local multiplayer games are almost extinct on the ps3, i only have one ps3 controller. i do have a couple of sets of buzz controllers that would give me instant multiplayer without shelling out money for extra otherwise-useless ps3 controllers.
for this reason i am leaning toward the wii version
