Dreamcast Keeps Restarting

Hey y'all. My Dreamcast has been having some issues for the last couple years. I'll be playing a game and the system will restart. Other times, it won't even recognize that a game is in the console and just keeps returning to the main menu. I was reading this thread on Dreamcast issues (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=151003), but I'm not sure if my problem is related or not. Any suggestions on what could be wrong?

You might have a combination of problems; the random resetting seems to be a common problem http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/sega/dc-reset.htm I can’t say much about it (I haven’t had to do it yet) but, it looks simple enough, and in the other forum is what worked for me. When my battery went out I had to reset the date/time every time I started up the DC and games like Shenmue would not work they would just go to the DC menu.

and also your system restarting is prly the internal battery. hope some of this helps, if not you can pick up dreamcast pretty cheap usually around 20 bucks.

USE Contact Cleaner fixes the fault i can and will make up some repair vids.
