What's up with September 17th?!

OK, there MUST be a reason for this. Below is a list og things I want, they're ALL due out on the 17th. I could see a bunch of PS2 games, or a bunch of DBZ movies, or even a mix of 2 different platforms.

BUT DAMN, this is a lot of stuff to buy on a day?!

Yeah im in that boat to, theres atleast 1 game coming out every week untill xmas that i want for the cube. It's going to be an expensive next couple of months. Nintendo did say there would be alot of games out by xmas so it looks like there trying to get them all out.

i just spoke to one of our distributors. there are close to 600 games scheduled to come out by xmas for all the current platforms (ps2, xbx, gc, gba, ps). 600 games. of course, only 7 of them are game cube, lol... (j/k, but not about the 600 games part!)...=^P

600 games. Let's break that down. If I had to guess, the numbers would look like this:

PS2 - 200
50 of which are good
100 of which SUCK
50 of which are OK if you're into that type of game

GC - 75
40 of which are good
10 are good if you're into that type of game
15 of which suck

Xbox - 200
175 of which suck
10 of which are good if you're into that type of game
5 of which are REALLY good

GBA - 125
45 are GREAT
40 are good, If you're under 11 years old
40 of which suck, no matter what your age is

lol! i think the number are going to be a bit more favorable on the "good, if you like that sort of thing/want to try something you might not have tried" tip, based on my E3 experiences. actually, sony seems to have had the "least" impressive showing, in my opinion- too many sequels, sports, comic book games and "mascot" characters (then again, all 3 systems had 'em)...

you also have to realize maybe 35% or more of these 600 games will probably be cross-platform "popular" titles (which means; before you say it wulf: "that's 3 times more games for people NOT to buy!", lol). we'll see. everyone is going to buy the overhyped stuff, and neglect the really good/innovative/FUN to play titles (as usual, and they'll hit ebay, and pay too much)...=^P

I have to pick up 2 Animal Crossings, one is for my girlfriend, I also have to pick up Kingdom Hearts, the E Reader, and Quantum Redshift for xbox, don't know why I'll be getting Redshift, but I'm hoping it'll be good, I've been wanting a good futuristic racing game since F Zero on the 64, and Wipeout on PS2 wasn't it. Also though I am a manager at a Gamestop, so I do get a discount. :D

Hey Sothy, I said thats what I WANTED, what I actually bought? Monsters Inc for the wife, and animal corssing for me. I WISH I could have gotten all of those today!

Next week is the DBZ movies.

Then the week after that MIGHT be kingdom hearts and Castlevania :)
