-Clubhouse Games
The first game I fell in love with on the DS around the time that I had a desire for more strategic and regardedly 'intellectual' competition and was beginning to truly appreciate board and card games. This one is not only great on the go but great anytime especially with friends, and bought brand new for a mere $20. Definately a classic.

-Pokemon SoulSilver
While I have been into Pokemon since I was young, there was inevitably a time when I 'grew out' of the Pokemon fever and still have tons of merchandise from that era. However, after finding a copy of Pokemon Crystal cheap at a thrift store, I began to get back into Pokemon -- or just the games at least. This eventually led me to buy SoulSilver brand new at full price with the lovely pokewalker bonus, and I was enjoying the series all over again. So far I have not spent as many hours on a DS RPG since I played this. I also have Diamond which is also good, but didn't spend as much time on it yet.

-Korg DS-10/DS-10 Plus
It's an awesome recreation of Korg's classic synth on the DS for composing music! What's more to say?

-Lode Runner DS (import)
Includes not only the NES version but (yet another) modern update of this timeless classic, which is almost worth buying solely for the excellent level editor which utilizes the stylus, making it better than pretty much every editor before it.

-The Dark Spire
I once had an online friend mention to me that he felt older RPGs with less storyline were good because of the vague, largely-imagination driven plots and exploration. I guess I also had that curiosity and sensibility in me but never took the time to fully embrace it until much later. This game, developed by SUCCESS and miraculously published by ATLUS in the US, is a tribute to a true underappreciated classic that even the most hardcore RPG players today would likely shun for its minimalism. I'm referring of course to Wizardry. The ability to play either a modern vividly illustrated 3D environment or the simpler psuedo-8bit mode was a high point in addition to the great music and presentation. Having japanese developers explicitly mimick oldschool western RPGs for a change means you will not find any big-eyed chibi anime girls anywhere. Hardcore weeaboos beware!

Ah! Dragon Quest, I was going to mention but forgot. I hope to add all of the DS installments (including DQ Monsters) in the near future when I finally get to play them.

Metroid Prime Pinball

I've had a DSi for over a year and have hardly used it. No rumble.

Tetris DS

I have to agree with this.. Never before did I spend much time on Tetris, believe it or not. Puzzle Fighter, Columns yes, but not until this retro-joy filled version did I truly get into playing Tetris. Sucker for nostalgia, I am.

Tetris DS - One of my favorite versions of Tetris! Absolutely awesome game, shame it's so hard to find so most can't experience it.

Phoenix Wright series - This alone should really make you want to buy a DS. Amazing, amazing series. No replay value, but the games are so fun and the story so well-crafted and the music well-done, and the gameplay challenging enough that you'll be sucked into a really complex and fun world.

Elite Beat Agents - While this one didn't sell well, it is a complete blast to play and highly underrated. There's just something about tapping your DS touch screen in-beat to classic dance and modern rock tunes that was just a ton of fun, even if all the songs were covers.
