Plesantly Surprised Saved

I went through my super nintendo games earlier tonight and found my copy of Donkey Kong Country 2. I have fond memories of this game, I have had it since I can remember and I was 3 when it came out. Anyway I remember never being able to beat the game when I was younger, and thinking about it I never got passed the volcano world until about 4 or 5 years ago which is when I last played it and I vaguley remember getting pretty close to the end.

So I decided to play it tonight and thinking, "dam how far did I get last time"
Well I didn't have to think for long cause when I turned on the game there was the save file from all those years ago waiting for me and it looks like I made it all the way to the final boss. So I tried to play it and after an hour I STILL COULDN"T BEAT THE LAST BOSS, now I remember why I havn't played it in so long, I get to the part where he shoots out flying ghost head things and I die every time, sigh.

But it is amazing to me that after 4 or 5 years the save file was still there, pretty cool.

Anyone else have a story of finding a save file or finding a password on a scrap of paper to a game forgotten long ago?

I've had game saves still fully functional from SMS games and such.

The last boss isn't that hard. Study the pattern carefully. :)

I've even had mini guides I've created for games like Faria!

I remember a few months ago, digging out one of my floppy disks for Ancient Empires (One of the few that still works), and finding my old save file, circa 1996, was still there. I've since beaten the game on Explorer mode, but it was cool seeing my old file; from when I was stuck on the 3rd chamber of Near East.

On the flying zeppelin thing...I know I should be able to beat it maybe I'm just of my game lately haha
