I've been researching the (many) different Famicon clone consoles, and also converters/adapters for putting Famicom games into a regular NES.

Does anybody have a recommendation for a clone console or an adapter, including suggestions on where to find them? I just recently acquired a Retro Duo, so an adapter that would work on that would be great (could do SNES, NES, Famicom, and Super Famicom in one unit).

Buy a special version of Gyromite or buy a copy of Stack Up. These early runs contained an adapter made by Nintendo.

Simply remove the game from the shell, find a shell of another NES game you dont care about like a SMB/DH and cut off the top half of the shell, then glue the adapter side in place. I used four pennies and it keeps perfect position. Then simply put in any Famicom game and it will run off a Retro Duo.

Here's a video showing a bit of what mine looks like.
