does anyone know, what the compatalties issues are when you insert a PAL game in the wondermega or a JAP Megadrive? I know about getting a converter to fit on top but just concerned if the text display is going to be japanese or english when you play it?
I also playing on playing sonic megamix. its a free fan game but will the wondermega like CDR's?

i just want one because it has awesome lights :)

If not region locked, a game will run in the language it was developed for sale under. There are few exceptions to this, such as Streets of Rage / Bare Knuckle being a multiregion cartridge based upon the hardware it's booted under. But, for instance, playing a Japanese RPG on a USA Genesis won't change the text to English.

CD-R shouldn't be an issue since as long as the game is matching region (and you use GOOD CD-R media and burn at a SLOW SPEED) there is no CD lockout on the Sega CD / Mega CD. However, again, you have to match regions - in the case of the Wondermega that would be JPN.

Thanks guys for the helpful info :)

I am having hard time looking for one that doesnt cost more then a second hand car :( how much should I expect to pay for a complete box condition? But...the lights......

if all fails, I could always get a separate JAP MD and mega cd. However, I do know that both units eat power supply's separately and I do have one transformer converter that I could use from my Twin famicom. Do I have to buy another transformer for either the JAP units or could I use my official sega UK adaptor on one of them?

I would add my opinion on the compatibility issue but all the previous posts are correct :) I, myself, own the JVC Wondermega model and *sigh* she is a thing of beauty. The lights are mesmerizing...I love the motorized lid...and the sound out of it is really good...as is the s-video :) I bought my unit back in 2004 with the box, manual, adapter, JVC branded controller and the Wondermega Collection game (everything was mint) and I paid $350 for it...
