So who's going? This (http://www.seattleretro.org/) is the official site. It's happening May 28-29. I'm going in w/ a couple friends on a booth (I think we're getting six tables). Looks like this is the first year. It's being put on by Gerald Levinzon who was also a staff member for the Portland show. (I don't think he posts here but I could be wrong.) Anyway just wanted to get the word out in case there's other Seattlites here who can't make it down to Portland (or don't want to wait for the next one).

This will be a good time. Gerald does post here but he is more of a lurker. He's loop006.

Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't heard about this before, and I'll definitely be there.

Figured there had to be at least a few people on here that would like to know about this. I might not be able to physically be there if I have to work. My buddies will be and will sell for me if I'm not able to go. I'm thinking about taking the two days off work, but I'd like to go to the Portland one (since it's more like a vacation) and I don't really think I should take that many days off.

Myself and some other PRGE members will be there for sure! I will be sharing a table with Coreys429 selling some great items. This is going to be a great show for folks in the area! I am sure that there will be some good deals on games, along with some diverse products to buy.

Nice, I should save up and plan to go on a shopping trip. I've never been to a convention like this. I had no idea that Gerald is the one who actually puts these on. I sold him some stuff on craigslist for $1 a piece just to make room at my grandpa's house and he told me about an event in April but it seems too far away for me to get to. I think I'll try and remember this one.
Hopefully there are more good deals than ebay-based pricers.

Hi guys, I do way more reading than posting, but this is Gerald.
The show is gonna be rad! We will have a free play room filled to the brim with games and retro challenges. We'll be running a Battle for Seattle tournament on some of the more popular fighters. Our vendor hall will be packed with some of the best locally owned stores and private sellers trying to give our guests the best possible deals, as well as a reason to save up for future shows. We are also working with several other partners to give us some fun things to do before and after the event. We are partnering with Northwest Harvest for an auction on Saturday night and we will be having the ultimate geek night on Sunday :) Keep checking seattleretro.org for more details and announcements soon!!
EDIT: BTW, we have a whole SRGE crew putting this together, not just me :)

Almost forgot, I will be at the cowlitz show if anyone wants to chat about about show specifics or grab a flyer. Also, SRGE will be setting up and running the free play room at SakuraCon. If you are gonna be there, come meet the crew!

BTW for those who are interested in attending, we're getting ready for our big push which will have lots of announcements and some pre-reg bonuses in the next couple of weeks. We'll have a booth at Sakura-Con, and SRGE is presenting Sakura-Con's classic console freeplay this year, so you can get a taste of what the show will have to offer!

I will definitely be attending the SRGE this year. I've been going to the Portland expo for a couple years now and I was at this years Cowlitz event. I'm looking forward to see how the Seattle show will be, plus it will be nice not to have a long drive.

Just a heads up, the auction is going to be AWESOME! Some of the coolest shiz I have seen in a while will be available.

It's called the International Academy of Design and Technology, or IADT. It's quite a long name. Anyways, it's a school for fashion and game design, and I am going to the Game Design part. We will have a booth setup for the senior students (including myself) to show off some of the work we have done, including, but not limited to, a game that all the senior students have created in the Unreal Development Kit. Everyone at my school is really stoked about the show. There is quite a buzz going on around it. I have been telling them about the kick ass stuff coming from down south. It will be awesome!

Sounds pretty sweet! I'll have to check out the booth and say hi when I'm there.

I'll be there for sure, at least one day, but will try to make it to both (putting aside money for gas right now, in fact).
Looking forward to seeing everyone again this year. It's been a while. I'll also be showing up with the fiancée, so there will be introductions. ;) I've been slowly converting her to the ways of retro gaming goodness for the last year.
As always, I will take on all challengers in Street Fighter II and Dr. Mario.
Can't wait to play the NES World Championship cart again, woo!

In case it's of interest, I will be selling/auctioning off my entire collection of video game systems and games a the Seattle Retro Gaming Expo
I was selling my systems previously before free time was drastically reduced, but you can see the old thread of what I was selling here:
http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1497378#post1497378
And as before, 100% of proceeds go to Northwest Harvest. You can think of it as every 5 dollars earned will feed a hungry family for a day. If you are looking for retro gaming stuff I hope you'll take a look at whats available at SRGE first as the money will be a great benefit to families in need.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the show. I just booked a room at the hotel. There are still a few rooms left, but you should act fast if you want one.

BTW, for anyone who hasn't pre-registered yet, we've extended our pre-registration to midnight Wednesday. Pre-registering gets you into the show an hour early on both days, and enters you in the contest to win a Nintendo 3DS!

Just wanted to check in and say I'm having a blast. Lots of really cool people at the convention, made a lot of sales and met a lot of new people (as well as seeing a lot of familiar faces). The auction afterwards was fun, but I got outbid on everything I wanted. (No $40 Playdia CIB for me. :() The afterparty was cool too, tho I wasn't too into the music. We didn't stick around too long, but I certainly enjoyed the free drinks. LOL Here's hoping today goes just as well (and I'm not too hung over).
