View Full Version : Region Free Xbox 360 Titles?

So it has been confirmed that Bullet Soul from 5pb Games will be region free, and after watching some gameplay I'm very happy to hear this particular piece of confirmation.
Bullet Soul is an Xbox 360 exclusive title that many players thought would only be playable on Japanese 360 consoles.
All that being said.. are there any other region free 360 games that are worth being sought out? I'm talking the real good stuff.. let me know 'cause I'm very curious seeing that I was unaware of region free games.

There are several other shmups both already released and pending. Eschatos is another shmup coming out later this month which is region free.

The other shmups I know that are region free are:
Espgaluda II
Mushihimesama futari
Muchi Muchi Pork & Pink Sweets
Didn't know Eschatos was going to be region free though, that's good to hear. It's supposed to have some particularly rare Wonderswan shmups as bonuses on the game disc.
Of those three I own Mushihime and have played Espgaluda. I really like Mushi a lot, and Espgaluda was fun. Definitely gonna recommend the former if nothing else, though.

I have one game (I think it was released in the states but I am not sure) called Risen. I have a region free copy of that

Unfortunately, there's not a lot of Japanese region exclusive Xbox 360 games that are region free. Other than those shmups, I'm not aware of any. There are some Asian market releases which are region free, but generally, all of those have been released in the US anyway, so there would be no point.

I hear the Japanese and Asian versions of Virtual On: Force are region free.

Japanese is region locked. I believe the Asian version is region free.

Japanese version of Virtual On Force is region free. I can play it on my US 360.

Japanese is region locked. I believe the Asian version is region free.
Both versions are region free and they count as the same game, so you can save some money buying the asian version.

Other than Virtua On, nope. Arcana Hearts 3 (which is pretty great!) is region free on PS3, but locked on 360. There aren't too many Japan-only fighters this gen so far, though if the gods are kind, we'll get a PS3/360 release of Melty Blood Current Code.
If you have a PS3, there's a game called Chaos Breaker available to download off the Japanese PSN. It's a weird fantasy fighting game, almost LOTR or WoW inspired. It's totally worth twenty bucks.
